You are certainly correct in that your life has worth. never on this forum have I seen anyone not totally embrace the idea that all our lives have worth. Indeed the very purpose of this e-group is to reaffirm that precise idea and provide the support any one of us might need in getting through health or other problems. Humor is no more than a tool for you ro use or not use as you see fit. In that regard it is not at unlike the resyt of the information and personal experiences that are shared amongst all of us with the same type(s) of problems. When you refer "in need," it would seem to me that all of us have been there, done that and continue to be in need. All of it with different specifics as to what each indivdiual needs. For some of us it is hand-holding and reassurance; for some it is technical information and medical options; for me it is humor. It is up to each of us to take what we can use from that which is offered. It will always help to tell us what is needed and what is not wanted. > where is compassion. It's all over this forum Everyday in every posting. We have all exposed ourselves medically and psychologically to each other in many ways, and always the support and compassion has been there. canceling membership now. That certainly is within your control. I think however, that all of here on the would wish you did not do so. The AICD is a scary device, especially in the beginning when one does not know what to expect. It seems this group contains members that have had no firings and members that have multiple firings almost every day. There are those of us who know more about the physiology and diseases of the heart than I could begin to describe. There are those of us who have had medical experiences that go far beyond the rest of us. and there are those of us who have had psychological and emotional needs that may or may not be cardiac related, but affect our daily lives and are capable of interacting with our defibrillators. It is my personal opinion that leaving this group would be a terrible mistake as it always has and always will provide great support to all of us. Please reconsider.
