Guest guest
Yoga Basics: When to Talk to Your Teacher If you've just begun to attend yoga classes in public studios, you may be unsure of how to approach your relationship with your teacher. You probably have many questions about the poses, your particular strengths and weaknesses, or any injuries you may be working with. But when should you voice those concerns? If you have an injury or a physical condition that might affect your practice (for instance, if you are pregnant), you should let your teacher know before class begins. This will help your teacher know how to run the class in a manner that is safe for you. During class, if the teacher specifically invites questions, you should feel free to voice them. Otherwise, save any questions about the class or your particular interests for after your practice is over so they won't disrupt the flow of the lesson. Lastly, don't be afraid to connect with your teacher. Since understanding your particular needs will help him or her teach more effectively, it's good for both of you.__________________________________________________
