Guest guest
Hi ; Welcome to the group. I too was 40 when my cardiomyopathy was diagnosed and 41 when I had an ICD implanted. I had a 10 and 14 year old at the time.... It took me awhile to realized I'd rather live like a grandmother than not at all. It sounds like your situation is only electrical, which means you should be back doing the things you love before too long, the only difference is - now you have your guardian angel watching over you! That is how I look at life now - that I have my back up to help me do the things I want to do, so I don't have to worry! Love your kids and love life, keep us posted. ~guin New to group from Florida Hello group. My name is Venanzi and I experienced a suddencardiac arrest on May 24 and recieved an ICD a couple days later. I ama 40 year old, fit, active male who never had any chest pain orsymptoms before. One nite while feeding my infant son I dropped to thefloor. My arteries are clean and my doctor said that my hear stoppedand was probably restarted when i did a face plant onto the tile floorand busted my nose.Anyhow, I have 2 kids in diapers and used to lead a very active lifestyle. I hope that my ICD never goes off and we all live happily everafter.I am willing to take it easy and to recoup after the surgery but i amreally hoping to get back to doing the things I love, playing with mykisa, fishing and swimming at the beach. I am looking forward tochatting with other group members to see how much or how littlepeoples life styles have changed after receiving an ICD.Take care,Phil Please visit the Zapper homepage athttp://www.ZapLife.org
