Guest guest
Yes, I do plan on making my own videos. Currently, I'm taking tv production classes at my local public access tv station. After each class, I have to volunteer on 5 shows before I can take the next class to become a producer on a show there. Once I'm a producer, then I'll be able to produce my own tv show, which I hope to have look professional enough to make into dvds. I already have several ideas for shows, but I haven't completed the total planning (length of workous, specific exercises) of them yet. So far, it's going to be Fit Ball, Pilates, Bands, Body Sculpting, Kickboxing, maybe an Aqua class if I can get use of a pool (trying to talk hubby into installing one in the back yard), and of course, Hi/Lo and Step. Once I get my Yoga certification, I'll add that too. This public access station has two formats that they work with as far as length of shows. 29 minutes on a weekly show, or 59 minutes on a monthly show. I'm not sure which I want to do, or what is going to be available when I am finally ready to put on a program. I wish they had a 59 minute weekly program slot because I'd rather do an hour long workout, but once a month isn't enough. Of course, if I take it to video, everyone will be able to do it more then once a month, but I'm just still not sure because I don't know what the quality will be for taking it to video using the studio there. Some programs look to be great and others don't. I think it has to do with who is doing the lighting, but since I haven't taken that class yet, I'm not able to figure out if my lighting will be okay yet. If not, then it will cost a lot more to do the videos, which might prevent it from happening. Still a matter of figuring it all out. So, in the meantime, I'm looking at what people like and don't like in other videos so I don't make the same mistakes. Tonya Re: Re: Tonya - Welcome! I have so many -- generally, if you like advanced stuff you can't go wrong w/ anything by Cathe Friedrich. Also, " old " FIRMs (before Good Times took over their production) are excellent and challenging - though there can be a " goof " factor there w/ the elaborate setting, etc. but the workouts are solid. I also love Tae Bo. I'll think up some more specifics for you as they pop into my head! Take care, Donna > __________________________________ Celebrate 's 10th Birthday! Guest guest
Oh wow, that is so exciting! I have dreamed about making my own exercise video. but realized I am better at live teaching. But really, teaching live classes and making exercise videos are two completely different things.Tonya - <mslightning@...> wrote: Yes, I do plan on making my own videos. Guest guest
maybe they should give him > his own show on fittv b/c i dont care to much for breathing space yoga. i > think it moves a little to slow for my taste. I agree on Breathing Space Yoga. I don't know that it is too slow, because I like other slow meditative yoga classes, but for some reason, I just don't like that one. Guest guest
Yeah, teaching live classes is a lot easier then making a video. I went into this thinking that I could just teach a class and have a camera on me, which would be cool, cause I teach on the fly and don't pre-plan a lot of advanced choreography. With video, I have to pre- plan everything so that I know where the cameras are and can make sure they pick up the proper form. It's a lot tougher then I had expected.
