Guest guest
, My heart and thoughts go out to you as you once again go thru such a rough time of it. I am hoping that the ablation helps and you can once again get on with a semi-normal life. It seems as if once we start with these heart issues that nothing ever is as it was before but we have to keep hanging in and pushing to improve what we do have. Hugz to you and your family. I will think of you tomorrow!!! Hi all,Well less than 4 months after my brush with lightning, I had anotherVT flurry.Saturday night at around 5:00PM, I was watching TV with my wife when completely out of the blue I went into VT-Tack.Atp kicked in the first time, then I got shocked.A minute later ATP kicked in again, then I got another shock. My wife called an ambulance.A couple atp therapies and then a third shock.15 minutes later the ambulance comes and 30 to 40 minutes after that I am at the local ER.I continued to have non-sustained runs of v-tack under my device threshold. I gave the local hospital the phone # of New England Medical Center, but they did not decide to call them for some reason. After approximately 1 hour of consistent runs of V-Tack they decided that Ameoderone was what they wanted to give me.I told them I did not tolerate that drug very well 3 to 4 months back. The ER Dr said, "We will give you a small and slow dose" because they did not know what else to give me.The moment the nurse started to give me the Ameaderone, I had a severe systemic reaction.Instantly my throat closed up, my face and entire body burned and I was sure that was it for me.Words cant adequately explain how horrific it was.It was like my entire body was about to explode and I instantly went into sustained V-tack.I guess in 2 to 3 seconds my face was as red as a beat. Now, I was on I.V. ameoderone for 48 hours just three months back and it damaged and swelled my veins, but my body all of a sudden rejected the med in a major way this time, it is really weird.6 hours more of non-sustained V-tack before it finally broke. Thank God !I am sitting in the hospital at NEMC as I write this and am going to have an oblation that they hope will fix my really messed up heart beat tomorrow morning. They said they wouldn't know what is going on until they look inside me.My heart has been messed up for the last 6 to 8 weeks and it has been hell to fake that I feel fine at work .With all the meds I am on, I find it hard to do my job as my concentration and memory is crap.I am an electrical engineer and I worked for 5 hours at the hospital tonight and I got accomplished what used to take me maybe 90 minutes to do.I am not ashamed to admit that I am very scared about my current condition and what they will find out while mapping out my heart. The docs said that there is a "Better than 50%" chance they can improve my condition. (I hope it is higher than a 51% chance)I am trying to remain positive and maybe this will all work out great. Please put me in your thoughts and prayer tomorrow. (Wed 11/8)Thanks in advance for your prayers, I really need them. Thanks and God Bless, 43 in Maine

Guest guest
My thoughts and prayers are with you and I hope they are able to do wonderful things with the ablation. Wouldn't it be great if you could take a vacation from all your heart issues? I know how you feel about work, too. I tried to keep working for 8 years until my body said " no " ...a nice big myocardial episode. I hope they are able to improve your condition so you can enjoy your life whether it includes work or not. in Vemont I had another VT storm. > Hi all, > > Well less than 4 months after my brush with lightning, I had another > VT flurry. > Saturday night at around 5:00PM, I was watching TV with my wife when > completely out of the blue I went into VT-Tack. > Atp kicked in the first time, then I got shocked. > A minute later ATP kicked in again, then I got another shock. > My wife called an ambulance. > A couple atp therapies and then a third shock. > 15 minutes later the ambulance comes and 30 to 40 minutes after that > I am at the local ER. > I continued to have non-sustained runs of v-tack under my device > threshold. Guest guest
Dave, My thoughts and prayers are of you. I've had problems going into VT rather frequently. I would like very much to know what kind of ablation they will do to your heart. My EP previously had ruled out ablation in my case. Maybe you've got better doctors there. Hope all goes well. I will pray for you. Guest guest
Dear Dave, You are in my prayers for sure. This has got to be a real scare. I know that with ARVD we have good times punctuated by 'electrical storms' I hope that this is the exception. I hope the ablation takes. You have sure been a comfort to me when we have communicated. Be of good cheer friend. All my best -- Ken
