At first I heard that devices made prior to nov 2001 were recalled by Guidant, then they added more to them but i dont recall the details of it. I know that we had quite a few people here that needed changing. However in my opinion all this recalls are a part of the bussiness. The amount of times these devices saves lives versus amount of people died is very small so I think it comes with the package when you have a heart problem. TURK

has a recall (Guidant) unit. Don't feel comfortable with it as it has not done what it should have a couple of times. But he is in a situation where we have no choice but to "deal with it". This is the first time since Sat I have been able to get on line. I was away for a while with mom. Found out that I can not leave alone to long. Lack of o2 to brain is really starting to show. His memory is getting really crappy. It seems he has gone past the CRS stage. He will show a couple of events when he goes in for a 6 mo check, but when you look at the other....

Hello everyone:

Please check in. Did anyone hear abourt Sharon? ? Doug?and all the others. I would like to know how everyone is.

For those who are interested, I just came back from my EPS specialist. Everything is ok, I need an icd change though, because mine was recalled as well and the doc was asking me if i wanted a 3 lead one and he mentioned he did not think i needed one yet. Since he knows me for the past 15 years I asked him how much my heart had detiriorated since i first started with him and he said except for a brief period in 2000-2001 i never had detirioration. I even recovered from that period and according to him I am better now than 1991 when he discovered my problem. I am just trying to ficure out when i can have the replacement.I think it'll be soon. I just want to get it over with. He said that my atrial leed is not working so he has to replace it and thank got i did not have an atrial problem (thank God) so it did not make a difference.
