Healing Yoga: Relief from Wind

It may seem funny that there is a pose in yoga called "Wind-Reliving Pose," but on the other hand, this pose may sometimes be just what you need. Yoga can be very helpful in improving digestion because it puts pressure on the digestive organs, especially the colon. If you're suffering from digestive discomfort, try this simple pose: Lie on your back with your legs stretched out along the floor. Keep your left leg extended and bend your right knee. With both hands, pull your knee in toward your chest. If it comes down far, you may need to let it move out to the side to avoid your ribcage. Hold and breathe for five to ten breaths, then switch sides. You can practice this pose as often as you need to feel better immediately.
