Guest guest
for : I've just spent more than an hour researching yeast extract and MSG. http://www.truthinlabeling.org/presentregulations.html gives a good overview of the labeling regulations. (Pretty much what you said.) I don't think it's correct to say that yeast extract IS msg, but that could be up for debate. Bottom line is that people who are ultra-sensitive to msg are not being served by the current labeling regulations. Thanks for pointing that out to us.for Lea Ann: There isn't any "story" connected with the Rapunzel on Vita-Recipes. I was referring to the fairy tale Rapunzel who was locked up in a tower and let her long, long hair down so her prince could climb up to her. Sorry...I hope you didn't waste too much time looking for a different story! BTW, there is no wording on my current pkg of Rapunzel vegan vegetable bouillon with sea salt and herbs that says or indicates "no msg" or "no added msg". Yeast extract is listed as the third ingredient. I know that some sellers represent Rapunzel's as having no msg, but I don't see that as a slur on the manufacturer unless they also advertise the product that way. Perhaps they do, in the form of marketing promotions to their retailers. I've no way of knowing. Sadder but wiser,Peggy
