, I DID respond to your last post, and at length. I suspect my answer

may have gone into your spam folder, as messages from this group sometimes do.

(and in which case you likely won't receive this response either)

--in a word--  YES.  I think you would love a Vitamix!  And who knows--you might actually jump in on the smoothie craze :-)  I don't know what the CIA is but I bought a refurb from LeaAnn and it works great.

In looking at the 5200, I notice that the support materials that come with it are quite biased toward the smoothie " craze " (as my daughter calls it, raw-food movement/lifestyle and vegetarian preparation. Would Keller, Boulud, and Charlie Trotter count?

Yes, I believe it is. I was in your same boat and have not regretted it for a moment. I use mine at least 2 a day if not more. I use it to make purees(very smooth) to make green smoothies for me and my family to make wonderful soups and sauces for pastas. I know it is a big investment but, I have suggested it to my friends and family I think would benefit from the use of this machine. If you think you could use it than you will. It makes eating healthy so much easier. It also makes it easier to slip veggies in dinner with my daughter. you can add a puree to just about any meal and she doesn't know it. I would definitely make the investment if you can afford it. Vita mix also offers a 30 day money back guarantee where they will pay shipping BOTH ways so you can try it at no cost and if you don't get enough use out of it then send it back at no cost. Hope this help. Good luck.

I do not have any food allergies I know of. I simply love to cook and fine food.

I am very happy with the VitaMix. I suppose I treat it as just a super blender.

I have been delighted with the almost instant sorbets I can turn out. I have

been very happy being able to use seeds...say sesame seeds instead of the made

tahini paste in hummus. The hummus is quite lovely. I think it's rather like any

really good piece of kitchen equipment, you can certainly cook well without one

but you'll cook better with it. I could cook with my All-Clad cookware but I'd

rather not.

sorry you did not get any answers but i did not receive any other email from you. at least i don't think so. anyway, if my house was burning and all people and pictures and computer were out, i'd probably grab my vitamix. jkjkjk cuz i could get another one easily. but, i have only had it 2 months and love it and it is amazing. watch the vitamix lady videos on youtube and she will definitely convince you and all she says is soooo true. lost my craving for sweets. thought that was insane. also, google victoria boutenko, she is terrific. bonnie

YES!!! Thank you all for your input.. I *am* getting them (online -- I stopped

the emails coming and am reading them " in the group " ).. Yesterday turned into a

hellish day at my practice and I couldn't get to my computer again until last

night... Two fingers of bourbon later was when I ended up going through the

list.. :-)

Oddly enough my wife came to me and said " we gotta do something to drop this

extra weight.. " Amazing how things come together, huh? I think that the VM

will be part of the way we keep the " foodie " alive and stop it from fattening us

up into Hindenburgs.
