Guest guest
Greetings Zap•Listers! Just discovered a shortcut you may want to use... Bookmark the following link. Using it will take you to a display with ONLY those items posted since your last visit to the Zapper•BBS. It will load faster than the full directory and reduce screen clutter. Zaplife.org/phpBB2/search.php?search_id=newposts As I mentioned in the July newsletter... we are making many major improvements such as adding RSS (syndication service) for the Zapper Newsletter, Zapper•BBS, Zap•News, Zap•Links, Zap•Folks and Zap•Groups pages - resulting in you getting notified via your desktop when there are updates! (Already tested and functional on the Zap•Lists!) One of the things we are most excited about is providing a 24/7 support program... making it possible to immediately get in touch with other Zap•Folks to talk with when you need to ask a question or get a little counseling - regardless of the time of day. To make that work, we need to get a bit more information from our subscribers. Please update/edit your Zapper•BBS profile by clicking this sentence. If you have not yet registered.. please CLICK HERE to do so. It's free but required if you want to post to the Zapper•BBS Refer to the example (my entry) below and enter as much information as you are comfortable sharing with other ZapLife.org members. I hope you can fill in as many blanks as possible. This is important to facilitate sorting/searching to assist people in "connecting" with others in the future... helping identify others who live near you or have similar implants. I rarely use only one of the four listed instant imaging services... but may change, since I can't ask you to participate if I don't. Right? And this is critical to making our 24/7 support idea a viable service. Ultimately, we hope to be able to have EP's, psychiatrists, pharmacists, and other professional volunteers available world wide, around the clock! Like everything in the past: It will ALWAYS be free of charge! Please use suggested format for LOCATION: Country, State/Prov., City/Area (Critical for consistent sorting ability) Please use suggested format in OCCUPATION block: ICD device maker/Model#, Your chosen career, Media option (Critical for consistent sorting ability) With so many journalists calling me world wide - hoping to talk to ICD recipients in their locale... I would love to be able to plug you into news people if you are willing to be interviewed in the future. If so.. after Chosen Career, enter your Media option with the words Media Contact: OK If you do not want to be bothered, enter the words Media Contact: NO As we compile our data base, we will use NO contact as the default if you enter nothing. Please include suggested content in SIGNATURE block: Birthday, ICD History, Current Meds (Critical for consistent sorting ability) Now, click NO for Always attach my signature, otherwise your birthday, ICD history, and Current Meds will appear on every BBS posting. Yes, I know this means typing it in manually when you post. I am sorry... but perhaps you can keep that in a buffer until I find a way to create a separate block for this in the future. Again, it's important to provide as much information as you are comfortable sharing. Who knows when you will want to contact someone who has the same kind of device you do... is about your age and takes the same pills you do... or lives in the same neighborhood when you need the name of a good EP or hospital in the area. Also helpful when you plan to travel. Thanks for helping improve ZapLife.org's mission! Stay well...
