Guest guest
This morning I actually got my sorry ass out of bed and did Yoga Conditioning for Athletes with Rodney Yee. On a scale of 1-10 I'd give this a flat 5. It is filmed outdoors in Hawaii it looks like, which is nice, and Rodney and (a man with a mohawk) aren't bad to look at, but there is no " connectivity " between instructor and student and he doesn't mirror his cueing, which I find totally unacceptable for a professional video. What I do like about this is that he shows 3 modifications at all times for each pose, and is a pretty good stretch tape for those that aren't very flexible, such as many athletes that do high levels of performance but neglect to stretch (thinking of my Dad here who was a football player in high school, is a big time golfer now but can't even touch his toes). The first 20 minutes are done in a chair - nice for 5:00 am! They were fairly efffective too, especially the one where you cross one leg over another in a literally seated pigeon pose, and lean over to stretch the hip flexors and glutes. I can't get enough of these stretches, it's where I'm always tight from kickboxing. The next 20 minutes were standing poses, warrior 1 and 2, side angle stretch, some spinal twists, tree, eagle and chair poses. The last 20 minutes were the usual seated stretches: staff pose, cobblers' pose, more spinal twists. If anyone would like to swap for this tape, lemme know! I've only viewed it once.
