Guest guest
Reflection: Truth (Satya) Traditionally, yoga has been much more than a mere physical practice. It has also been a spiritual commitment to ethical observances. One of the oldest observances in yogic history is truth, or "satya." But being truthful can be more complicated than one might initially think. In today's world, what does it even mean to "tell the truth?" Esteemed teacher Judith Hanson Lasater has an answer: "The yogic practice of satya (truth) requires that we carefully choose our words so they do the least harm — and most good." This week, as you go about your life, meditate on that simple teaching. How can you change both your outer language and your inner thoughts so that you can do good rather than harm? Does following that observance change your speech dramatically? If so, you're on the yogic path.
