Reflection: Mono-Tasking

You have probably heard many times of the benefits of multi-tasking. Sometimes it feels like we can't get ahead in life without the ability to do multiple things at the same time. And with the competing demands of work, family, and personal interests, it may be impossible to think of any other way to live. Yet yoga inspires us to do things differently. Instead of doing multiple things at once, when we practice we try to do as few things as possible. Our practice offers us an opportunity to mono-task instead of multi-task. As we slow down, we learn more about who we are. But the benefits of mono-tasking don't end there. By slowing down, you can also reduce stress, boost your immune system, and improve your body's health. So it may be time to ask yourself what areas of your life require multi-tasking, and what areas might have some room for you to simply do one thing at a time. __________________________________________________
