Bren~

I use jojoba oil for my solid perfume as it has a very long shelf life.

A bit more expensive but well worth it if you plan on making a lot of

solid perfumes!

Thanks for all the replies, everyone seems to agree that it's

rancidity. Any suggestions on what oil would not go rancid as quick as

soybean oil? The Vitamin E will be tried. Anything less expensive than

vitamin E to preserve? Thanks

The wax alone is FAR too hard.. a blend that you'd use for lip gloss

would work well. The recent SELF magazine article that referred to our

site recommended 2 parts jojoba to one part beeswax (by volume, not weight,

they were working in teaspoonsful.)

I'd strongly suggest either jojoba or Fractionated coconut oil, since they

won't go rancid... when we are doing perfumery we tend to use the more

costly oils, and we want them to last...not be spoiled by a carrier oil

going rancid.

Hi Marge! Thanks for your reply. I think I read that article in Self. How

wonderful! I bet I even have it here - somewhere.

How did you get the write-up in the mag? Just curious - I'd be so proud to have

my little company listed in lit somewhere - lol

Thanks again!

Hi ,

I just buy the pre-made soild perfume base and add fragrance oil to it. I

personally really like the 2 oz. tin containers, they are great for solid

perfume.

To use, you just dab the solid perfume behind your ears, on your wrists, or

wherever you want and you smell nice all day long.
