I got up this morning to find the Zapper BBS back on line.

Did a genie wave a magic wand as we slept? Sort of....

After hitting a brick wall with the ISP guys (including their System Managers) that left me so upset I went on a crying jag and I put up that whiny page yesterday... and shipped it to the 1000+ of you who are registered with 1 & 2. A shining knight responded to my plea with a phone call during the ZapChat last night. (For those of you who took part... that's why I vanished during the session. I hope many of you benefitted from Dr. Edlund's visit. From watching on the sidelines... It looked like there was a lot of great questions being asked and my friend was able to provide lots of valuable insights to help get a good night's rest .)

The new recipient of the "Order of the Blue Flash Award" is Mike Solinas. Mike, a senior engineer with a high tech company in Silicon Valley, called and offered his UNIX expertise. And then, Sir Mike went on to achieve what the techs at the hosting company could not accomplish in nearly five (5!) days! From the time stamps on Mike's email notes overnight, it appears he spent several hours on the effort - from Midnight to 4AM!

His email updates indicate he installed the latest update/version of the BBS software which offers much better security against the malicious hacker swine.

Sorry... should not defame the noble pig with that association.

His final note said he still has more to do:

So... please be a little more patient. Still.. for the first time this week, I am breathing a bit easier - knowing we are finally on our way to getting our years of problems with internet jerkasoids behind us. If you are among those who were with us (way back) before we changed to our current ISP when the Russian porn peddlers began squatting on the old Zapper BBS... you know how long this has plagued us.

Mike Solinas' volunteering to offer his time and skills to help us is the ONLY reason we are getting close to resolution. WE ALL OWE THIS DEAR MAN A HUGE DEBT OF GRATITUDE! Perhaps we can all chip in and buy him a ticket to the New Orleans party!

OK... time to get ready for school. Got to finish my homework before class.
