Hi Sandy, is correct. You do not need to use caffeinated tea to make Kombucha. The only thing that is required is that the tea is camellia sinensis, not an herbal formulation. You can use white, black, green, caffeinated or non-, as long as it is "real" tea (i.e. camellia sinensis). I don't know if pre-packaged Kombucha indicates whether it is decaffeinated, but I would think so. Making your own is simple and fun. Ask !Peggy
