vitamix blades spinning counterclockwise?

Just curious.....a couple of weeks ago my vitamix had a difficult time making

pesto and smoked a little from the inside....possibly I used too little oil or

too little ingredients so that I didn't cover the blades enough.

I'm just paranoid that the machine isn't working quite right as it shut off on

its own while making a date/almond pie crust. It came back on soon after and I

supposed the blades got " stuck " at the bottom with the gooey mixture.

My question is does the mushroom cap and blades spin counterclockwise....that's

what direction mine is spinning and I just wanted to make sure that is what it

is supposed to do. Otherwise I will need to call customer service.
