Guest guest
Ever have a day so awful that you end up laughing to keep from crying?? We had one today. Karrie hit, spit and kicked at everyone in her path today. We went to Denny s for dinner...she got choked on a glob (sorry) of fries and I rushed her into the restroom to clear her throat. She smeared catsup on me, on her sister and on herself. We went to DQ for ice cream later. She kept putting ice cream on her chin and saying she was Santa. Then she did something so gross that I had to laugh to keep the tears from rolling....she wanted a drink of my malt. I didn't realize until she took a drink from the straw that she thought it was soda. She leaned over and spit a mouthful of malt into my hand. I am so ready for some down time, alone!!! Happy 4th of July everyone!!!! Sue (single and exhausted) mom to Kate 13 and Karrie 7 w/ds

Guest guest
Guess my point of this message was that so many things were challenging that it ended up being almost funny!!! BTW, Karrie will be seeing a neuro-psych in a few weeks to get to the bottom of the behavior issues! I just couldn't do the drug route just yet. Also, although I may seem to whine alot (just teasing ya, Kathy!), I have the most adorable (and challenging) little girl. Life is pretty great. Last night, Karrie tried to do the poppers, little bundles that you throw onto the sidewalk and they pop, for the first time. She was doubled over giggling!!! Guest guest
Oh Kathy!! What a way to start a day!! LOL When Karrie just started to get out of her toddler bed and find me in the morning, she woke me one morning by patting my face. She was saying, " Ma, I poop " . I started to say good talking when the smell hit. Guess where that little hand had been????? Glad your day is better already. So is mine. Amazing what a good night's sleep will do, huh? Sue mom to Kate 13 and Karrie 7 w/ds who has only had one accident, poop and pee, in 3 weeks!!! Finally!!!!

Guest guest
I have to say I had a good 4th too. Unfortunately we were at Joe's parents house and there was this dog that just sort of wandered onto the property when we were eating. I tried to chase him away but he just followed me, almost tripping me. Several times I yelled and tried to get this dog away from us, but the more I yelled, the more he followed me. LOL! the only relief I got was getting on the 4 wheeler. Then he wouldn't come near me. And Joe, well, I've never seen him get madder than he got last nite. His parents live in a hick town and there were neighbors literally having a war with their fire works. They were shooting them at each other's houses. Pretty stupid. Well, one particular rocket (for lack of a better word) came flying directly over us and that's when Joe got up and walked down the street and yelled " HEY!!! I'VE GOT AN 8 MONTH OLD BABY OVER HERE!!!! " We all heard it over the loudness of the fireworks going on next door. He was so mad. The guy later came over and apologized to us for nearly putting our kids in danger. Well that was our excitement for the evening! I hope everyone had a good fourth.
