Vitamix Leaking Wet Container - An Update

As everyone remembers, I had a leaking wet Vitamix container. I wasn't sure if

it was the container or the blade. I ordered the Vitamix wrench (which took two

weeks to get), and changed the old wet blades into the newer dry container. I

then put the unused dry blades in the old " wet " container.

It turns out that the wet blade assembly is defective and leaking. I took off

the old wet blade. I then took the dry blade off the dry container. I then

took the old wet blade, but used the new round locknut assembly. Nobody said

anything about it, but I took a little vegetable oil, rubbed it on the newer

rubber section of the locknut, and assembly it onto the newer container. End

result, it leaks! The water is coming from the center of the bottom of the

blade assembly....near the " gear " . I tried using a philips head screw driver to

tighten the screw, but that did nothing. I then tried the old container with

the dry blades.....NO LEAKS!

So.....if anyone has an extra or inexpensive WET or ICE Blade assembly for the

Vitamix.....Kindly let me know.

I'm still trying to figure out where this rubber is; having recently replaced a blade assembly, I saw no evidence of it in either the defective module or its replacement. Regardless, best of luck.

Is your machine no longer under warranty? If it is, they will replace the blades. If it is no longer under warranty, I'd check e-bay for new containers if you don't want to buy new blades from Vitamix.
