HI This word has been abused since my first memories When I was in middle school we had a neighbor who I think now had CP., he also was MR. but he the socialist kid I knew. Some of the boys his age would tell him to kiss girls, lockers etc.... anytime I saw this I would tell the boy to STOP listening to these mean boys. This boy also had a younger brother who went to this school and when he found out about the teasing and making his brother do silly thing, the mean boys fell under his wrath. Thinking back now, he was the most " buff " kid I have ever seen lolol heehee good thing I wasnt into boys then I really think it's the immature mind and ignorant who use this word, and if I care at all for the person I carefully correct them. Now that Sara's age 11 my skin is pretty tough and I ignore the " retard " word (when used on TV) especially since Im constantly correcting Miss Sara on her name calling. I did see a T-shirt the other day that had sponge bob and another character on it with the wording " I am with stupid " Sara through a fit for the shirt and read it out loud. I deal with a lot of people at my job and when they say that I just say, " don't say that, it's a bad word. " -jokingly of course. 10 times out of 10 people don't even realize what they are saying. I personally have the bad habit of saying things are " gay " . It means nothing, just a bad habit. I suppose " gay " people feel the same way when I say it as " we " feel when we hear the word retarded misused. Don't get too bent out of shape.
