Hi :)

The FL panhandle (Fort Walton, Destin, Panama City) has nice beaches. Due to

my hubby NOT being able to take a " real " vacation (7 days) I am going to join

my brother and sister (and kids) in Destin .... for 25 dollars a night ...

WOW could not turn this offer down, hubby will join us later for his few days

off.

I am so sad I can't hook up with in Myrtle this summer :( but Im hoping

we can go to Disney world next summer heehee ....... I'll start now

saving this fall, with or without Mike :)

I am in so much in the need for the beaches, the long walks in the sand, crab

legs every night lol and flopping on the bed after an exhausting day at the

beach. I want to build sandcastles, and chase Sara's boogie board. I want to

take Kaite to all of the restaurants to just buy their T-shirts and look at all

of the junk Jewelry in the gift shops. I want a week of saying " yes'es " to the

kids :)

Well, I'd look at a map and see which ocean town is closest to where you live.

If you wait until after Labor Day, it's much cheaper. Virginia Beach is nice.

Alot of people here go to North Carolina - it's suppose to be cheaper than

Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Myrtle Beach has tons of things to do. We are

headed there in a few days.

ocean ideas?

Hey everyone. I have been really lazy reading the list lately, but I have a

question. Dakota is driving me nuts about going to see the ocean. As Dean

works 7 days a week in the summer, I decided to plan a trip for me and the

boys.

We are looking for places to go. We live in Indiana, so the Gulf Coast or

East Coast are our best options. I just figure that I will drive straight

thru, with the help of Dramamine for the kids. LOL...Not looking for resort

type

stuff, wouldn't want Dean to miss that, lol. Just a neat beach to go visit

for a few days. Anyway, if you have any suggestions, let me know.

Thanks,

Beth, Mom to Austin, 6/ds and Dakota, 6

Beth,

Hi. I was worried about ya- come here! we have beaches 20 mins from my

house and my house is very much not resort like! Also buy the wrist bands for

long car rides- they work well for jesse and then hes not taking drugs.

Also, just so you know- i traveled once alone with both kids and its a bit

tricky- especially when they need to stop to use the bathroom every 5 mins! And

then I had to take both of them with me!!!

Serioulsy, you could come here- we have nice beaches and i have the room.

i just had 5 days in south padre WITHOUT the kids. my mom and sister and mom's

best friend and her daughter (someone we grew up with) all went for a girl's

trip. THAT was wonderful - from bloody mary's on the plane going, to a day trip

to mexico for some good margaritas and cheap souvenirs to watching the sun set

from our balcony and the LONG walks on the beach. no kids to chase or be aware

of - no looking over the shoulders - no worries. it was fabulous. as much as i

enjoyed looking at the children in the ocean with their parents - i was THRILLED

to just be observing and NOT an active participant. ahhhhh. sadly the reason we

went was for my mom - her husband of 2 years died of prostate cancer. still, it

was a fantastic trip and we hope to do it again yearly. karen in dallas (mom to

Hi Beth-

I live in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. There are great beaches all the

way from Pawleys Island, through Litchfield, Surfside Beach, Garden City

Beach, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle on into North Carolina. Of course, there

is resort stuff, more near Myrtle Beach.

I grew up in South Alabama, and lived for 11 years on Dauphin Island,

Alabama. Across Mobile Bay is Fort , Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and

then moving into Florida. These are all great beaches. The Mississippi

Gulf Coast is nice also.

Have fun!
