Hi, I'm a newbie Vita-Mix owner :-)

Hi there,I am Niki Glover, a brand new Vita-Mix TNC 5200 owner! Hubby and I live on the beautiful NSW Central Coast, just north of Sydney, Australia. We have no kids or pets, and we both work full time and commute to the city by train every day (1 hr each way for me, 1.5 hours for hubby). Over the past year or so we have been trying to significantly improve our diet - we have been enjoying green smoothies since about June last year, we never drink soda or cordial or drinks with artificial sweetener, try to eat as few refined carbs as is possible and have switched to quinoa instead of rice, and use corn/rice or corn/millet pasta instead of wheat pasta, and soy milk instead of cow's milk (although I am still unsure about the whole soy thing). My very good friend recently invested in a Thermomix and she raves about it, but it was a little out of our price range, and we needed to replace our blender/food processor and I knew we needed to buy a good one, so when a special offer came up on the Vita-Mix, we bit the bullet and ordered one. It arrived on Tuesday and so far I have made a batch of green smoothies (my goodness it's SMOOTH!!), chopped some tomatoes and used the wet chop function to process carrots and zucchini to pad out my Bolognese sauce. Too easy! Tonight I am hoping to make my first batch of ice cream.
