Isn't that a riot!!!!!! Our kids sleep through scary things, but have

heart failure over being in a store...LOL

The earthquake in NY was fairly mild I think.

I don't know for sure, but I know my mind is a powerful agent. Unease and

worry leads to nervous feelings and so on. No good for the heart rhythms...

eh?

I don't think that the ICD is doing anything itself. The Barometer does go

low in thunderstorm weather. The answer could be there. Do you fly often?

Does a similar feeling come on at altitude?

Probably nothing to worry about but a question to give to your ep or ep

nurse when you go for polling. I always try to ask every little thing when I

see them.

Take care.

We've discussed this one on BBS before. Apparently there is no

reason to worry. Don't know if you've ever been zapped, but the

first time I got zapped, I saw " blue lightning " coming at me.

Needless to say, I try to avoid it if at all possible. But,

according to all those who know, it won't affect the ICD (unless, of

course, it hits it!)

I do think it's just a mental thing. We were camping last summer and

had a horrendous lightning storm (we sat in the car for nearly an

hour waiting for it to pass), and I was a complete nervous wreck.

But, no problems with ICD.

I suspect it is the pressure change that accompanies storms. I've

always been pretty sensitive and my daughter actually gets headaches

when a storm is approaching. You probably feel very subtle changes

in the scar tissue around your ICD and that's why it seems like it is

the ICD.

Just speculating.
