You also have my sympathy about the psychological after effects, might even be worse than the actual shocks. I am sure your being stressed out about issues with you daughter was a great contributor to you getting shocked. Just wanted to share with you all that I got zapped 3x in a row yesterday. Other than the pain when each of them occurs, is the fear that it leaves you with. I have not felt well for several days. Nothing major to speak of but enough to know that things weren't right with my chemicals again. I was mad with my daughter and some of the crap she is pulling (17 yrs old) and was saying "Whatever" to her when I got hit by my zaps. I hate this thing that can reach out of nowhere and unsettle my whole emotional stability. I know it was from stress and I decided not to go to the hospital since it stopped on its own. My last experiences at the hospital just make things worse for me anyway. Will call the Docs tomorrow though. Out of nowhere.........went to the kitchen to get a plate of dinner and boom back to back twice. Does anyone else hurt or ache in the heart and shoulder area afterwards? I am left feeling it even today. Lately I am wishing this thing was not in me. My quality of life has been bad since I got it and now that it keeps on firing lately I fear the thing. It must be something in the air because i had to go to the hospital from shortness of breath and pressure in the chest area. After staying in the hospital friday and saturday nights tests showed nothing but stomach problems and very minor liquid in the lungs which cleared up with lasix. They said i am not having chf and the shape of the lungs are caused by the smoking and the abdominal pressures so I quit. I just have to watch what i eat as well. I stopped taking prevacid which i was taking for 6 weeks and all the symptoms coinsided with 6 weeks so after i stopped taking it and started taking protonics which i think both have to do with ulcers and maybe acid reflux, so making the long story short after two days in the hospital i am back home and feeling much better. What are you set at. I am set at 180, then when it fired that 3 times, they reset me to 200. I am so sorry for you. I am here for u...consider yourself hugged...I don't want mine anymore either, but we have to remember, every time it zaps us, it just saved our life!!! Never thought something so simple like peeing could feel so damn good :-). Glad u r back home. It's the best place to be to heal. All is well on my end and the CHF is under control. I smoked for 23 years and only stopped 4 months ago, but, honestly it was the best thing I could have done. I liked my prilosec better, but my insurance will only pay for the protonix, doesn't seem to work as well for me. My mail was bouncing for a few days and that is why I missed your mail. Hope all is going better with you now. I have acid reflux and neither Prilosec or Prevacid did anything to help my heartburn. Then my Dr. prescribed Nexium. Of course at first insurance said they would not cover it and it cost $160 a month without insurance. But with paperwork filled out by my pcp, they finally covered it. Still cost me $35 a month. But now I use Express scripts and am getting a 3 month supply for $35. (That I can live with) Anyhow, for me this drug is a absolute miracle. Not only is my heartburn nonexistent for the 3 months I have been on it, but I can eat and drink anything and still no heartburn. I had not eaten green peppers or had a margarita for years. But not a problem on Nexium. I do not know how it would work on others and the trick is to get the insurance to pay for it. Just wanted to throw this out in case it may help.
