Guest guest
I rebatched with an oven bag in double boiler style and it came out just right. Soooo, you know what I been doin ;-) This is my first rebatch: First of all, After preparing myself for this rebatching project, (safety First ! ), I turned on the heat at high and let pot of water get hot, just before the boiling point. I then added 4 cups of grated ** soap to a cooking bag (oven cooking bag), along with 2 cups of distilled water, twist tied the bag closed, squeezed the bag to moisten grated soap-then in the pot of now very hot water it went. I then brought water to a rolling boil. I let this boil for about minute, then turned the heat down to medium-high, removed bag from pot, sat on newspaper spread on counter, secured my hands, and began gently squeezing-mashing up lumps. I then returned bag to water, and repeated the same till I was satisfied with the consistency. I left the bag in, ohhhh about 1-2 minutes at a time. Remember, the pot of water is on medium-high, and not boiling at this point. You may need to use the medium setting, if your pot is boiling at medium high at this stage. Once I was satisfied with the consitency of the soap, I opened the bag and added my additives: 2 drops of red color 1/4 cup glyceryn (skin protectant) 6 caps (squeezed and drained) Vitamin E 6 drops of Red Rose body oil 1/2 cup of distilled water. I then reclosed the bag and began gently squeezing till mixed well. Since soap begins to thicken, when removed from the hot water, I returned the bag to the pot for about 1 minute, removed, squeezed to mix well, then poured into my molds. Although my mixture came out liquid, there were some clumps, but they added texture to my rebatched soap. After pouring into molds, I put in freezer for several hours-I read this according to a soapmaking book. After about four hours, I had almost forgot about it, I removed from freezer, then cut and prepared for drying. This rebatch yielded 13, 3-4oz bars, 8 candy sized pieces-used a 'rose' candy mold, and 3, 1oz each soap balls. The soap is a light rose-pink with various size white specks in it and smells like a rose ! I let the soap air dry for 7 days....The soap that I rebatched with retained its fluffy white lather, and it still floats ! **I'm not sure if I can name the soap on this list. (((((( =:0 ))))))) Sooo, if you want the name of the soap I rebatched, you'll have to email me or if you have my homepage address, then you can go and read it there. Peace, FreJoann@...
