baking bread for dummies

Hi all,

Does anyone have a bread recipe, from start (grinding the wheat berries) to

finish, that results in something other than a substitute for a doorstop? No

exotic ingredients, please! I'm having a hard enough time figuring out the

wheat differences - maybe it's to do with the way wheat is identified here (as

in, it isn't)? As for choice - hard, red, white, soft... forget about it.

I've found recipes online but it hasn't been a tasty experience, lol. I'm

thinking something is getting lost in the translation overseas.

I don't know why this is so difficult for me, but it's going over my head just

like geometry. I'm not going for anything fancy even... just something to

replace my Helga's. *grin*

P.S. When you ask for wheat berries at health food stores in Australia, the

surprised looks - 8O - are because berries are a euphemism for animal poop, most

commonly sheep berries. *grin*
