Guest guest
Welcome aboard Kim, That's a good question and I was wondering the same thing, although I think you can. I had my Vitamix for only 3 1/2 months and love it. I just ordered an Excalibur 3926T Dehydrator and should be receiving it Saturday via Fedex. I can't wait, another toy to play with. - JB From: kedwards313 <kedwards313@...>Subject: New Member with New Vitamix Date: Friday, June 11, 2010, 6:09 AM Hi, my name is Kim and I am a new Vitamix owner. I purchased the Memorial Day refurbished special and it arrived yesterday. I was wondering if any of you had ever tried making smoothies with dehydrated fruits (after rehydrating). If so, what steps do you follow? We have a travel trailer and I was thinking that I could carry more fruits that way. Thanks! Kim
Guest guest
Welcome, Kim! I don't often use dried fruit but when I do, I always soak it; how long depends on the fruit itself (goji berries, for instance, take very little time). I rehydrate because I can't stand " pieces " in my blends--I like to honor the " smooth " in " smoothie! " You probably want to make sure that you've removed the pit if it's there, then cover your fruit with water and maybe a little more. Overnight in the refrigerator is a safe bet for thick stuff, then dump everything (by which I mean the liquid as well) into your Vita-Mix with the other ingredients. That's just me. Others might do things differently. New Member with New Vitamix  Hi, my name is Kim and I am a new Vitamix owner. I purchased the Memorial Day refurbished special and it arrived yesterday. Guest guest
Did you order one of the blemished models on eBay? Guest guest
No - it was directly from an email that I received from Vitamix. It included both the wet and dry containers for $449. I had been thinking about getting one for a while and when I got that email, I decided that it was time to make the purchase. Guest guest
I have two Excaliburs (without timers) and love them! (I love kitchen gadgets!) I dry alot of my fruits and vegetables because I am out of freezer space. Guest guest
Hi , Yes, I did order one of them 3926t's off of ebay. The ebay user excaliburdehydrator, is from the factory itself not just an authorized seller. I also bought 9 Excalibur ParaFlexx Premium Sheets, they are cheaper and if ordered with the dehydrator, will be shipped free. I hope I don't regret buying this. Not because of it being a factory blemish, but, I just hope it gets used enough to justify the purchased. - JB From: kedwards313 <kedwkedwards313@...>Subject: New Member with New Vitamix Date: Friday, June 11, 2010, 6:09 AM Hi, my name is Kim and I am a new Vitamix owner. Guest guest
I bought one of those "factory blemished" models and can't for the life of me tell it from a new machine. It is the same with the re-furbished Vitamix machines - you can't tell them from new when you open the box. I don't use my Excalibur as much as my Vitamix, but I do use it frequently. I've made powdered greens, dehydrated fruits, fruit roll ups, yogurt taffy, and beef jerky. I'll be doing apple slices today - my kids like them. Guest guest
Oh, I know they're from the factory--I'm the one who posts the link when the blemished models come up. That's how Lea Ann came to buy hers. New Member with New Vitamix Date: Friday, June 11, 2010, 6:09 AM Â Hi, my name is Kim and I am a new Vitamix owner.
