Guest guest
no, a milli is a 10th of a centi Steve Spence Renewable energy and self sufficiency http://www.green-trust.org http://arduinotronics.blogspot.com/ On 08/17/2010 12:47 PM, Peggy Rodgers wrote: > > > Chuck, wouldn't it be " Do 10 centipedes = 1 millipede? Guest guest
Sure glad someone knows math. It's so sad!!! Guest guest
Second response. It's not easy to know a lot of math; but it is easy to look-up before posting. Guest guest
Aw, C'mon... It was a response to a tagline, for cryin' out loud... What IS it about hot weather???? Chuck If Helen Keller had ESP, would you say she had a fourth sense? Guest guest
Yes, I know that a milli is 1/10 of a centi. But a millipede has "1000 legs" and a centipede has only "100 legs". So doesn't that mean that 10 centipedes would = one millipede? I think this conundrum depends on how you look at it. I still think 10 centipedes would make one millipede because 100 (legs on a centipede) x10=1000 (legs on a millipede)...for purposes of this puzzler only, since neither of these arthropods has the number of legs indicated by its name. Centipedes have from 20-300+ legs and millis have 36-400+ and sometimes as many as 750. Kinda depends on whether you're arguing math or prefix meanings. Peggyps...I'm a bit surprised at the scarcely veiled insults, Christian. It was a long time ago that I was taking math, but I can still multiply by 10. Guest guest
Someone's got a LOT of time on their hands, counting the legs on a millipede... BTW, I NEVER explain taglines... Feel free... Chuck I've been on so many blind dates, I should get a free dog. On 8/18/2010 9:42:38 PM, Peggy Rodgers (hotdogbun2001@...) wrote: > Yes, I know that a milli is 1/10 of a centi.
