hi donna and everyone!

ok, about aerobox...

first of all, i was calling it 'air-oh-box' and i had to laugh when kathy

smith says it as 'aw-row-box'. ... a play on 'aerobics', i guess ::shrug::

first kathy and michael olajide do a short instructional on how to do

boxing punches properly and this is appreciated. then the class starts and

it is a pleasure to see that michael leads the whole thing. kathy is

basically just a participant in the class and she counts off reps for

michael occasionally. and, remember how we were calling him 'scary

michael' because of his abs workout and eye patch? well, he is actually

very soft-spoken and doesnt seem that scary after all...LOL!

he is a really good boxer though! he does all of the moves so naturally

and with perfect form, of course. kathy smith is so smart to get experts

for her speciality workouts.

also the workout is filmed in an interesting way which seemed popular at

the time -- an industrial-looking set and the camera takes a bunch of

different angles and changes from colour to black-and-white at

times. there are ropes from a boxing ring and the class wears boxing shoes

for added effect. the music was there... i remember a very strong techno

beat.

ok, so michael leads the class through a boxing warmup which i thought was

good... then goes onto a bunch of fast-moving boxing drills and

combinations. i thought that this part was great except that michaels

voice was quite soft and if he gave alot of cues, then i missed most of

them. after some time spent doing that, michael had the class start

bouncing... doing the 'boxer bounce' i guess you could say... while doing

punches and combinations. this was fine, even with missed/non-existant

cues, except that i did have to stop bouncing around before they did. next

michael and gang get out their jump ropes to do jumping intervals, so i did

too. and i lasted about, oh, 30 seconds. i dont know what i was

thinking, but jump rope is not a good workout for an asthmatic. it is more

like a good way to kill myself! LOL! i can increase my cardio endurance

but because of the asthma, i dont think that i will ever reach the point

where i can jump rope like this :/ it looks like a real blast... but,

nope... those parts of this workout are not for me. it is strange that i

even have a jump rope in the first place. i think that someone, along the

road, gave it to me. anyway, it is going back to where i keep it, at the

bottom of my fitness drawer! and this workout, well.... i would really

like it if i were able to do even some of the jumping. but im not... so i

think that i will give or trade this one away. i did like the boxing

component alot but i already get so much of that with taebo.
