Guest guest
The Washington Post has a front-page story about a paper published on-line yesterday in the journal Science by Makoto Kuro-o of the University of Texas's Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. The klotho protein is also found in humans and it modulates the insuling/IGF-1 pathway. This study seems to add more support for the theory that insulin accelerates aging. We normally argue about what ratios of protein, fat, and carbohydrates are OPTIMAL for longevity. The mounting evidence makes me wonder whether equicaloric low-carb diets may be better for life extension than high carb diets. Tony
