Too many Emails?

 Hello (and Vail),

I COMPLETELY understand! I am on a lot of lists and for the ones that are high volume (or I don't have the time to moniter) I switch to either "Daily Digest" or "Web Only". With Daily Digest you get one or two Emails a day that contain all of the e-mails that have been sent to the list in one big Email. With Web Only you are still a memeber and can go to the Web to read the messages at a time that is convenient to you. With this option you still get access to the files, the links, the photos, the archives, and you can still read the messages - just on the web and not via Email.

Another way to manage the Emails is to set up a separate Email folder (this is what I do because I don't like daily digest (very hard to reply to any specific Email that way) and if I switch to Web Only the reality is that I rarely go visit that Group again.

Here is a Google search on "how to set up an Email Folder" which should make it possible for everyone to find the instructions for THEIR Email program:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en & rlz=1B3GGGL_enUS177US229 & ei=6V_kS_vxEZqJlweR7OXABA & sa=X & oi=spell & resnum=1 & ct=result & cd=1 & ved=0CE4QBSgA & q=how+to+setup+an+email+folder & spell=1

Vail, I looked up Gmail specifically for you: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/set-email-filters-gmail-hotmail-/

So, if you set up a separate folder the Emails don't clog up your Inbox (they show up in that separate folder that is dedicated to ONLY the Emails coming from this list). Then, you can simply scan the subject lines easily and decide if you want to open the Email or not. On some lists I delete Emails without ever opening them just from the subject line. If I'm really busy (like when I've been away at a show) and I know that I can't read all of the Emails in a particular folder from a particular group I just delete them all and start fresh!

Back to how to set yourself up on Web Only or Daily Digest.

If you scroll all of the way down to the bottom of ANY Email that comes from Any Group you are on you will find:
