Guest guest
I am trying to find out what brands are used most frequently. Thanks. TURK The two units that are used the most and are most known worldwide - are Guidant and Medtronic. They of course are in direct competition with each other! When I did my research a few years ago the Medtronic was actually most recognized WORLDWIDE... Glad I've got one because I travel the world. (That is why I did my research). ~guin

Guest guest
Turk, I would go to a search engine like "Google" and find out exactly what the "Market share" of each company from there quarterly financial statements to the share holders. Maybe though, you are only interested in the devices that people in this group have, not each companies actual market share. Good luck with the job, I just sent out half a dozen resumes today myself. Just imagine, when I am employed again, I will not have all this excess time on my hands to respond to so many e-mails from this group. Might be a good thing ? Dave Re: *Turk, ICD info link. Guest guest
I haven't been able to follow all of the emails on the 'magnet' today, but I was given a magnet provided to my doctor's office by Guidant to use when I went out of the country for a few days. I went to some undeveloped areas of Belize and Guatemala and was to use the magnet in case I received inappropriate shocks or if a lead broke. I was to place the magnet over the ICD until I could get to a hospital where it could be corrected. I have kept the magnet and travel with it when I am not going to be close to a doctor or hospital that services my Guidant device. Guest guest
Hello everybody, hello Turk ! I read everyday each of the posts at this group because my father has ICD Medtronic. I don't write any questions because my English is poor - it's easier for me to read and understand than write in English. But I'd like to tell you what ICD type my fathwer has. It's GEM III DR 7275. It was implanted in Sept 2003 and thanks God - he feel very good. best regards, Tommy POLAND -- ------------------------ Jeszcze lepsza oferta AlphaNet - nowe serwery wirtualne - nowy sklep internetowy - nowy wirtualny administrator Sprawdz www.alpha.pl ------------------------
