Guest guest
I did add sliced almonds one day but for some reason, it didn't hold me over like I thought it would OR it was just my sweet tooth that I couldn't control that day..... Guest guest
Thanks Lea Ann....have your tried coconut oil or would that have too much of a taste to it? I was reading the benefits of coconut oil for inside and outside the body. Guest guest
I can tell you that I cannot afford to purchase all organics (I know, I know but....)....it is due to the sensitivity of my tongue and throat AFTER having my radiation because of base of tongue cancer. I have had this with especially with trying to EAT a kiwi and it was a major OUCH.....thanks for thinking of me and my burning but I believe it is just due to the after effects of radiation and there is not much I can do about that except to TRY ALL organic smoothie with a pineapple and see what happens.... JaniceOn Jun 9, 2010, <berrywell@...> wrote:  Janice, were all of your ingredients organic? Often, the burning in your throat can be an allergic reaction to pesticide residues on non organic produce-you don't notice it so much when just eating the fruit or veggie, but more so when it gets concentrated in a juice or smoothie. I can't do ANY non organics, and my sister in law will have a nasty throat reaction if juiced, but not when she eats them (non organics, I mean)--NC
Guest guest
Coconut oil does have a taste - if you like the taste of coconut, you wouldn't mind it. I especially like it with pineapple (pina colada anyone :-) For things that I wouldn't want the taste of coconut oil I use flax oil or as another poster mentioned, you can just add some nuts. You can make smoothies creamy without wasting your precious cashew cream by just adding cashews to your smoothe! Guest guest
The virgin coconut oils have extremely mild flavor. I use coconut oil for everything unless I want the taste of butter. My source is http://www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com Chuck Why do they call it a TV set when you only have one?
