Guest guest
Sounds delish. And may I put in my plug for Penzeys pumpkin pie spice while here? It really is wonderful and is so intense that you may find you need less. Pumpkin Pie Smoothie  I tried this a while back right after a bout with " Montezuma's Revenge " . I rarely even think about pumpkin, but was seriously craving it that day and it turns out that it was my body's cry for more potassium (pumpkin and bananas have a lot of potassium).  It was, by the way - DELICIOUS!  Pumpkin Pie Smoothie:  1 cup Almond Milk (or yougurt or whatever you use for milk - I had home made Almond Milk on hand) 1 cup canned pumpkin 1/3 cup fresh orange juice 3 dates 1 tsp pumpkin spice mix 1 frozen banana  Blend on high - serve and ENJOY!

Guest guest
)) Don't forget to see if you have a Penzeys near you; you can save on shipping. I can't tell you how happy I was when they opened a tiny little stand in the Grand Central Market...I just wish they had more room because they don't carry all sizes of all items. Guest guest
Can they do special orders for you, ? It seems like it would be win-win for both of you and it wouldn't require shelf space for a one-off purchase.Cheers,EvaOn Tue, Apr 6, 2010 at 2:32 AM, <kareningotham@...> wrote: I just wish they had more room because they don't carry all sizes of all items. Guest guest
Is canned pumpkin readily available again? I've been told up here in Kentucky that they (groceries) can't get it since the crops were damaged last season. There is literally no canned pumpkin on the shelves at the main grocers, which up here is Kroger, Wal-Mart and Meijers. However, I have not checked specialty grocers like Whole Foods. Has anyone had luck finding canned pumpkin? This recipe sounds so yummy! Leisa > > I tried this a while back right after a bout with " Montezuma's Revenge " . Guest guest
Sounds like a winner. I think I would try pumpkin pie and some pineapple for simpler version, the nuts, almond milk and ice and maybe a sliver of ginger and a sprinkle of cinnamon. > > While at the Palm Beach Gardens, FL Whole Foods Market, I " invented " this recipe to serve to the employees (I usually save my " inventions " for testing out on employees before serving to customers (big grin ;-) > > But it turned out a HUGE HIT and word spread and many employees asked me for the recipe, so here it is: > > 1/2 can of pumpkin pie mix (WFM has a can that is organic and already has the sweetener and spices included). > A large hand full of mixed nuts (roasted, salted, peanut-free) I'm sure that almonds or cashews or peanuts or just about any nuts would do, but the mixed nuts were very nice. > 5-6 dates (I personally would use Stevia + plain, roasted pumpkin + pumpkin pie spices, but that is just me) > 2 baby carrots, a 1/2 inch slice of yellow squash, a very small amount of green cabbage > (I did this at the show to impress everyone with how many veggies are in the recipe, but if I were at home, I'd use about 1/2 cup of ONE of these veggies and I'd use steamed carrots) > 1 cup of Almond Milk (at home I would use coconut milk) > 2 cups of ice > > Blessings, > Lea Ann Savage > Satellite Beach, FL > (321) 773-7088 (home) > (321-961-9219 (cell) > www.VitamixLady.com > www..com > <))>< >
Guest guest
Served this HOT at the ville WFM. Many preferred it hot to cold. YUMMY either way!!! Hot and thick it comes out like a pudding - the nuts give the taste of crust. To make it hot and THICK - leave out the ice and blend on high until hot. To make it hot and thinner, add about 3/4 cup of hot water (or more milk) before blending on high...
