Guest guest
Hello, I apologize for not being involved with the group. I have to tell you that there is a ton of things going on since I quite smoking 10 years ago. Just to name a few, There is a tumor on my pituitary gland, it has gone from a 4 mm to 7 mm. My thyroid is hypo and it was regulated for a very long time and now for the last 2 1/2 years it has been hypo and I have gained over 100 pounds. I broke my ankle 5 years ago and I tried to get the homeowners insurance company to " pitch in " and help me with my medical expenses. They refused to help, even though the " homeowners " paid a premium that included medical expenses. I lost 25% use of my ankle and there is permanent sensory nerve damage. The homeowner just happens to be my brother and their insurance companies attorney has been a complete JERK to me. We went to court yesterday. He made me out to be a very bad person for " suing my brother " even though I was exercising my constitutional rite to sue the homeowners " insurance company, " and that I was NOT suing my brother. Just so you know, I would never had " sued my brother " if at the time; I didn't loose my job because the company closed, I didn't use up my severance package while on medical leave, it wasn't in the middle of winter, I could afford the $382 it was going to cost me to go on cobra (after all I needed physical therapy so that I could learn to walk again without hurting myself) and I could pay my bills with " NO INCOME. " My brother and family all pitched in and helped me out. I am very pleased to say that I found out this morning that I won my Law Suit! I started a new job and rotated between 6 desks and I complained to my supervisor that I don't fit into this type of desk and she told me that I am becoming a " problem " for her. Shortly after she said that I was having an anterior cervical discetomy with fusion. There are STILL 2 herniated discs in my neck....I filed a work comp claim and it was denied even though my " NEW " supervisor, coworkers, Neurosurgeon, Neurologist, Primary Physician all said that this injury IS work related. I decided to appeal the insurance companies decision. I go to court the early part of November. Meanwhile I have to take pain medication and see a Spine Doctor every month. Next week my sister will be having the same neck surgery that I had only at a different level. During all of this, first my father then my brother got sick and both are now in need of a heart transplants. My Mother had cancer (thankfully she is well now), Grandma died, Uncle dropped dead of a heart attack, 37yr old cousin died of heart attack. In the last year alone I had the 2nd tumor removed out of my breast. My blood pressure was up to 170/110 and I had positive test results for pheocromoctoma (tumors on adrenal glands). I have been diagnosed with Idiopathic Edema and IBS (I will spare you with the details on what I went through to get that diagnoses) and three deaths in my family. I just went to the doctor with a " red " spot on my " good " breast. My doctor made the nurse come in while he examined me and that made my very uncomfortable. He decided that if it wasn't gone in two weeks that it may be a form of " breast cancer. " That was 2 1/2 weeks ago. My doctor told me at my last visit that what I have been through in the last year, most people don't go through in a lifetime. He also told me that one of his patients with a hypo thyroid brought him a book to read and he says that he now has a better understanding of what his patients go through mentally when they are hypo thyroid. At one time I was on 13 medications. I am now down to 6 medications. Some I take up to 3 times a day. Thanks to my wonderful Medical Doctor, Psychologist and antidepressant medications I am getting through all of this. I am not sorry that I am sharing all of this. I NEED the support of this group and I think at this point I am ready to jump in, I think anyway. I feel good about closing the 5 year ankle chapter of my life this morning. I have an attorney who really cares about me, my brother and his family and I mean he really cares! The whole time we were at court yesterday, I was in his face about everything. He just kept me up and up about what was happening around me. I would have quit smoking even if I had known all this was going to happen. Thanks, (the 4th on our list!)
