Guest guest
, I'm assuming you are referring to dysphonia. I've seen two cases of this in which the patient has a partial loss of control of the vocal muscles and the voice goes into a sort of shaky falsetto, sometimes intermittently and sometimes constant. This first was twenty some years ago. The patient did fairly well with specific upper cervical adjustments. Unfortunately, I left the office I was in and lost track of the patient so I was unable to follow through with his status. The second was about two or three years ago, and he was very inconsistent with getting adjusted. His voice would go falsetto, but he could sing in a normal voice. He ultimately submitted to periodic injections of a mild drug that created a state of partial paralysis of the vocal muscles and ultimately it cleared up. If you're interested I can get the name of the Dr. who applied the tx. R. Stearns, D.C. Dear group, I had a lady today ask me about a condition called Muscle Tension Dysphnia. Her symptoms are that of varying degrees of speech loss apparently from abnormal function of the vocal cords due to msl tension. Was diagnosed at OHSU after a year of tests with an eent. She stated OHSU DR said only 30 cases in Oregon, cause unknown, no known treatment. The patient says a friend of a friend had this condition, cured by a chiro, and that an article was published in a chiro journal. Any info, ever heard of this? I also think Rick elli, ND would do a good job, as well as Ken (or is it ) , ND in Hillsoboro. Don White, RN, DC .. OregonDCs rules: 1.
