Guest guest
I wonder how smart this teacher is. Most of our children do not recall what they had done wrong over a long span of time. I know mine doesn't, for that matter often her typical siblings forget too. With her it is a cause and effect thing. She looses playground time. And it is on the day that she " messes up. " If she would have to pay the cost of error at the end of a week it would not work out too well. She does however earn a reward for good behavior in the same way. The thing that really bothers me here is that she is basically being treated badly in front of her classmates. The peer thing is so very important. I cannot imagine how this may be effecting her self esteem. You should hold a teacher appreciation lunch at the school and " fail " to include this teacher, but do it in full view of her....see how she likes it. Her poor judgment has reflected into too many violations this year. I know I shouldn't say this but the woman needs a child she is soooooooo clueless to what we feel as moms and how to react to kids. Yes, I have documented all of the violations for this year and I noticed in the communication book for yesterday while in the math block they did shopping. Now there is no way any of Sara's objectives in math can be worked on in a shopping theme. I imagine the teacher has now taken on this task as to teach my daughter how to shop instead of working on IEP objectives. She knows I do not want any life skills taught until a later time geeesh at least not until HS. This will also be discussed. Guest guest
Seems like it's time for this teacher to GO..... I would seriously consider telling the IEP team that if this teacher isn't removed from your daughter's program or that another more suitable teacher be found, then you are going to sue them. It's possible. I read an article where these parents successfully sued the teacher and three others for violations. They each had to pay, which, in turn, made them all just as accountable for ONE teacher's actions. Big lesson to learn there and if everyone's aware of this particular individual's willingness to violate an IEP, and do nothing about it, then they all should be held accountable.
