The best things i can think of to prevent healing and hurry healing are

Comfrey and St. 's wort oil... They helped me when i bashed my shin out

falling down a small set of cement stairs... Good luck

Sam, so it hurried your healing or prevented it? or did you mean prevented

scaring and hurry healing? I was thinking of making a salve thing with

infused comfrey leaves I dont have st johns wort oil. But I have leaves I

harvested last summer/fall. Or take infuse them in emu oil... something like

that.

-- Anti-scar salves/allergic reactions/feedback

Hey Ladies. Looks like now is the perfect time for me to be concocting somesort of healing/anti-scar/emu oil salve stuf for my dd. Last nite shetripped up the stairs and cut up just below her lip. At first I thought shebit thru it but actually it was cut on the stairs. Anyways she ended up atthe emergency getting 4 sitches. I kept her home today from school cuz sheis pretty sore and has quite the fat lip. Anybody got anysuggestions/advice about making something for her?, speaking of lips.....I was just wondering if that herbal salve helpedyour lips. I wonder if it was an allergic reaction to something in it. Ihave used that lipinity a couple times with no real problems. Last week afreind of mine got into a trade with some girls and one of them was asoapmaker (none of us here), In that trade, she got a bar of soap that hadpoppyseeds in it and used it on her face and it made her face burn badly, beet red, and swell up. Turns out she was allergic to opium (the poppyseeds).nne that is sooo cool to get feedback like that. Stuf like that keepsya going when the going gets tough. Congratulations!ShayeOur Message Boardhttp://www.voy.com/21568/Check out these great Molds!!http://soapwerks.com/martinworld.htmMember Kae's Site... The mixture hurried healing (the scraps were skin again in a week and a

half), and i have used just Comfrey infused olive oil for the same purpose

with great results... and the scrapes did not scar in my case...The st.

john's wort helps to prevent infection as well as re-sensatizing the nerves

in the area that may have been damaged... i don't know enough about emu oil

to recomend it, not to mention that i don't condone using animal product at

all... i guess this is why i have never looked into emu oil...

well Good luck at any rate and i hope this info helped some (my little sister

has a scar on her chin where she fell on her face... too bad we didn't have

this stuff then.)

:)

Shaye,

I haven't been keeping up with the list at all lately!! But I just got

stitches over a broken finger, just about tore the end of my finger off at

work with the bone snapping thru the skin, yikes! I just wanted to say

that comfrey heals so well you really don't want to use it on a deep cut

without some kind of antibiotic added to the salve like tea tree. The

outside of the cut will heal before the inside and if there is any chance

of infection inside it will get healed over, which isn't good! I also read

somewhere that calendula oil if applied every day AFTER the cut has healed

(You have to use the oil at the very least a couple of months - 1 year)

will help scars to dissapear.

I hope your daughter is feeling better, that must have really smarted!!!

Take care,

Cheryl

Thanks Cheryl... I didnt put anything on it except for antibiotic ointment

untill the stitches were out. Which was monday after school. It had closed

up and healed enuf for that and no infection occured and since then I have

just been putting striaght emu oil on it. Its actually looking pretty good.

sent me some herbs to infuse and make something for her. Thanks for

the reminder about the comfrey. We will be working at this for a while im

sure.

Oh my gosh im sorry about your finger!! I know that smarts. I broke my

finger about 3 or 4 years ago shutting it in the car door, and I thought I

was gonna die! Hurt so bad. But not as bad as what you did im sure! I

hope you mend well! How did it happen?
