My first ever zaps were when I was sitting to go pee......took me weeks to get to feeling like it was ok to go. Now I am left feeling like I can't get too upset about anything. Guest guest Posted April 12, 2004 Report Share Posted April 12, 2004 , my Doc who originally put my first ICD in told me that when I received a "treatment" (his words not mine!!) to put ice on my chest and shoulder...since I have always done so I don't know if it truly makes a difference. But, it is worth a try, even if it only helps a little. Hope things are calming down...and as far as your feelings toward the ICD, I think all of us have felt the same way. Although the alternative is not pretty, the idea of having something foreign in your body, just doesn't seem natural. And yes, at times I have been terrified and even begged my Doc. to take it out....(he smiled at me and sympathized ) but, he has never received a "treatment" ...although I have offered to share one of mine. TURK Re: Zapped AGAIN! Hi I am not surprized about ach in heart and shoulder the heart is a muscle and it prob can be strained like any other that is prob all it is.
