You have been diagnosed by your physician as having one of the many

diseases which can cause interstitial pulmonary fibrosis or what we call

lung scarring. We will first describe these various diseases, then explain

what happens to your lungs when these diseases affect them. A later chapter

in this booklet will tell you what to expect of the diagnostic tests used to

determine the extent of your disease.
