I think our best Christmas was 1993. Not big presents or anything but

we just had a great time. When we were putting decorations and things

away, I said, " Let's put everything out again and do it all over again. "

was all for it. We had a lot of fun shopping that year and

everything just went right. Then the next year our dear pet rabbit, Susie,

died on Thanksgiving and it kind of cast a pall over it all. It's never been

quite the same since, altho this year has been very good. We have acquired

other pets since then and have a houseful now who are all very precious but

Susie was special.

I hope everyone is enjoying this Holiday Season and doing well throughout the

festivities! We are trying to slow down and limit how much we do this year

so we can spend more time together. ;-)

Hey , is the big lottery winner one of your relatives? ;-)

Hi,

I agree, I too would have cloned xmas this year! For New Yorkers, it was a

definate shift from last year. And much easier to enjoy the time. My son,

age 8 said, " This was the best Christmas ever! "

Hey - Terry Curtis from the list in Alabama, was a very special xmas angel

for us. wanted electronic scatergories and i couldnt get it. Well,

she got it in Alabama in where else, but walmart, and mailed it to me and it

got here on xmas eve! It cost $10 and 20 to mail, but it was worth it to

give amanda the gift she really wanted from santa!

Anyway, here in the city, it was $39.99, so I made out on the deal!

Both Christmas eve and day were full of good friends, family and great food.

Hope yours were full of the same.

I got a cool gift - Brooklyn in a box - a Brooklyn version of monopoly -

pretty cool game!

Santa called the kids xmas day on my cell phone and yes Jessie all the

stockings were full of goodies including block buster gift cards for the kids

which they thought was so cool of santa!

Hope everyone had a merry and now, gear up for the New Year!

Jessie,

1993 was a memorable Christmas for us too. It was and the kids's

first Christmas in Mo.

We usually get a new pet at Christmas time. In fact we got a new parakeet

tonight. He is our fifth and named him Fudge.

We went home to Alabama on Christmas Eve. We took and the newly married

couple with us. (It was a shorter distance to their honeymoon site on the 26th

than from south Georgia anyway). We sent the young ones to early mass on

Tuesday night (usually dubbed the children's mass) and we went to Midnight. It

was so incredibly beautiful and our home parish has the most beautiful church

with a copy of the Pieta that cost a local physician $200,000 to donate. The

choir was incredible and the priest has the most beautiful singing voice. I

stayed away from the middle aisle because I'm severely allergic to inscense and

so I was well this year (no bronchitis) to enjoy my family's lovely Christmas.

We had a small immediate family get together in our room at the Day's Inn. We

bought a little tree for $5 at the Dollar General that had lights and ornaments

and put our presents around it. and Mike didn't get much because their

wedding cost us a bundle but they liked what they got. didn't get his

exercise bike (couldn't find one in any Wal-Mart anywhere. Everyone behaved and

got along at my parent's house. We all talked and played board games and ate

chili, chips, and snacks all day. No one really had to cook for long, so we

could enjoy each other. We drew names at Thanksgiving and we could afford

better gifts for each other as well. We went home early the next day and rested

some. It was the best Christmas in years. My sister made a lovely toast at the

wedding. She said " 13 years ago we welcomed (adopted) to our family on

this day and now we welcome Mike. " I thought it was very nice.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to All of You.

We had a good Christmas here also. Very quiet, as it was just the 4 of us, and

Mike had to work. The girls decided they wanted to get up early before he left

for work, so they were up at 6:30, and we opened presents. got a new cell

phone with a qwerty keyboard so she can send text messages. showed her

how, and she has sent a lot of messages, including one from upstairs asking if

supper was ready yet. She is enjoying it. As soon as we opened presents, Mike

left for work, and all 3 of us went back to sleep!

, I am interested in hearing about Rock Band. We have Guitar Hero, and

can do okay on the beginner level, but she loves drums, and I thought Rock

Band might be better for that. What do you think?

I am thrilled with my new printer/fax/scanner/copier, and my new Jabra hands

free cell thing for the car.

loves her iHome, and Mike is thrilled with his new, hi-tech instant read

meat thermometer for when he smokes meat.

I hope everyone had a wonderful day, and that those wonderful days continue on

into 2010.

A great Christmas

Santa brought " Band Hero " this year for the three girls, and it was a

hit for all. Santa chose this over " Rock Band " because although there

are not as many song options (yet, it just came out last month) the

songs are more current and recognizable to the kids, and it's compatible

(somehow) with the Guitar Hero we already have. It also has some neat

features that I think work better for our girls, including the fact that

you can choose the instruments, so if two people want to play guitar and

no one drums, you can. It also has various modes to allow for different

abilities.

We had HOPED that would enjoy it, as she loved her video

games, and loves to sing (behind closed doors, like we can't hear her,

LOL.) She still won't try the guitar, but was really pretty good on the

singing and drums. The best part of this game is that you can set each

instrument to it's own level, so the girls set on drums to

" beginner " and basically, as long as you played, you got credit and it

didn't mess up the rest of the band's score. Awesome for encouraging

participation!!!!! She's especially fond of singing the Swift

songs, and I'm guessing we'll all be plenty tired of them by the end of

vacation!!! Didn't get a pix of her on her red Christmas PJs, hair

totally messy with a bow from church last night hanging askew, totally

rocking out on the drum set :-)

Great Christmas here.... presents, games, and lots of food.....

tomorrow, back to normal :-( Hubby is doing the the dishes.... what a

guy. Hope everyone had a wonderful day, and enjoys the vacation. The

only thing missing is the snow, but we gave that up when we moved back

to San Diego!

was  a Huge hit among all ages from the oldsters like us to the young adult

with it and everyone is looking forward to New Years Eve and rockin out lol!!!

We too had a wonderful christmas.  Just all being together under the same roof

at the same time was blessing enough for me!!  Merry Christmas!

Band Hero sounds like that would be a great addition for us. I didn't know you

could set Guitar Hero to " no fail " . My 14 year old has been having so much fun

watching me fail;) I will look for that setting.

We had a good laugh when Josiah (20yo) opened his new cell phone on Christmas.

We got a 'ring tone' of his favorite girl friend/singer Demi Lavato. My son

called the number as he was opening the gift. He was pretty excited. He would

not answer the phone until his 'favorite' (has lots of favorites) song was done.

He did that several times, but now is answering it. :-)

We were fortunate to have all the family here for Christmas on Christmas day

this year....inspite of a blizzard the night before.

Hope you all had a nice Christmas.

phone.... aaahhh haaaah... I wish I could have seen that.  Did you video tape

it?  How cool.  Kiersten

No video....we were all so excited about him opening it that I don't think we

thought of it. Should have though. We have other pics that maybe I'll try to

post. Does this group accept attachments...or how should I do it?

You could go to photos and start an album.  That is what I did.  Just upload
