Listserve for support staff

,

I think I can speak for myself and Dr. Knecht in saying " yes " a listserve for support staff would be beneficial. Imagine your office manager or insurance person being able to easily communicate with other people from other offices for such things as EOBs, etc... I think it's a great idea!

As the office manager for my doctor (wife), I wade through all the DC list messages and want to respond to this one.

I am already on a national CA list. I would rather this list be just for Oregon CA's, since laws differ from state to state, and this way we can focus on our state, for specific information or to build legislative support for various issues. For those who want to be on a national CA list, the address is ChiroAssistants

Thank you,

Al

Terreri, DCOregonDCs rules:1. Keep correspondence professional; the purpose of the listserve is to foster communication and collegiality. No personal attacks on listserve members will be tolerated.2. Always sign your e-mails with your first and last name.3. The listserve is not secure; your e-mail could end up anywhere. However, it is against the rules of the listserve to copy, print, forward, or otherwise distribute correspondence written by another member without his or her consent, unless all personal identifiers have been removed.

We are starting an e-group of office staff to share info on how to get past

insurance carriers nonsense, bureaucratic bungling, continuing ed. stuff,

comparing software, and other stuff.

Dr. Freeman is the moderator of the general e-group for sharing clinical

information and political yapping. He has sent the following to organize the

support staff e-group:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Let's do some Promo here.

I know some folks have ditched the e-list because of politically charged

rhetoric (that's journalist-speak for tone). Others just can't get through

all the email and give up. Their staff, on the other hand could be a godsend

for us all.

I have cobbled together some of our messages and cc's them to some folks. I

suggest we get people in other states involved. You never know what is

possible unless you learn what has been achieved by others.

I'll cc this to a bunch of them to include their office staff.

Elise and Randy Hewitt in PDX

Domby in Scappoose

Lorentzen in Alaska

Anne Glose in Arkansas or Tennessee or somewhere

Greg Eckel is a token Naturopath- a fine young doctor in a group downtown

near the library

Please do the same.

=======================================================

Assuming that we have limited time to pursue outrage in action, I have

considered getting a cyber-group together for such watchdog purposes. I have

contacted the Insurance Commish several times over the years. I have NEVER

heard of an action taken by that office.

I had considered putting together a group of chiro students (and even more

appropriately the spouses who will become office managers), law students,

and clinic billing managers to track some of these more egregious

violations.

I support Peer Review and the board's actions against greedy, corrupt

doctors and that sword should cut both ways.

Thoughts?

Dr. :

I am very willing to swing whatever blade would be effective to mount a

campaign in this area.

For far too long, I have been told by various state chiro organizations to

" keep a list and we'll check it when we don't have anything else to

do " ......

I would be quite willing to talk/email/etc with interested folks re

InsComScam. I wonder what exactly they do?

What do you have in mind?

The current group targeted for the administrative e-list is Oregon practices. Unless the membership decides to include out of state practices support staff from out of the state will not be able to join.
