Guest guest
Our local Wal-Mart is an older smaller one too. We love it. The lights aren't particularly bright. Half the people who work there know us, or anyway. Several people there have told me it's a good place to work. So I don't feel bad about going there. We have a new Super store a few miles away, we've only been there once, we like ours better. Glass who has been CEO or something of Wal-mart is now the owner of the Kansas City Royals baseball team and I can't stand him. Talks out of the side of his mouth for one thing. And most of us believe it was a " put-up " job for him to get them. There was another guy wanted to buy the team but they kept raising the ante. Every time he would meet the requirements they would come up with something else, till he gave up. He loved baseball and would have made it a lot more interesting. I don't like Target nearly as well as Walmart. Not the ones we have anyway. For instance there was a video tape wanted that they had advertised. We couldn't find it so asked a fellow in that dept. and he had no idea what I was talking about. Just typical. You might have a completely different experience in your area, of course. Guest guest
Hi, I read in 's post about a self-centered father. I think there are an equal number of self centered people in both sexes and that everyone can be self-centered at one time or another, it's part of human nature. Yea, all toddlers and teenagers go through that egocentric stage! My father does have alot of anxieties. The older he gets, the more I see it in him. My comment about the self centeredness was in reference to the fact that he has never acknowledged our grief over the loss of our mother. BTW, Walmart does invoke anxiety in alot of people. I think it's all those super bright lights (with no cover which is not good for those of us who can't be exposed to UV rays)...but that is MHO. Our local walmart is not as bad (it's not a super center) - but their security system is messed up and the security alarm goes off when shoppers leave the store. This has happened to me twice - our local store has a reputation of being one of the worse walmarts around. I Can't wait for target to come into town. Much smaller than super walmart yet almost everything available. I LOVE shopping in their housewares and picture frames and candle department! Very nice! You will be thrilled to have them in your area! They are also very community oriented and make charitable donations and work with different groups towards fundraisers, etc. Cheryl in VA
Guest guest
We just got a Wal-mart super center close to us - about 5 miles away. I have to say I enjoy the convenience of it. They have the best fresh cut up pineapple. They were a god-send Saturday night. LOL. About bed time our toilet decided it was going to overflow, and would not be plunged down for anything. After my dh and I each spent about a half hour plunging, dh was out shopping for a snake at the Wal-mart at 1:30 a.m. We gave thanks that something was close, and open all night. The next nearest Wal-mart is about a half hour away. It was still close to 3 before we got to bed, then got up to travel to my mom's for our family Christmas, which had been delayed due to snow. I went to work this morning feeling like I had the effects of the morning after, without having had the fun of the night before. a Mom of 3, including Nicky, almost 12, DS, Hirschsprungs, preteen syndrome grandma of Zoe, 5, K, and Christian, 3, preschool Work: www.cumberlink.com AIM: gabrielaken ICQ: 890756 Re: Comments on Self Centeredness, Anxiexty pills, etc. > Our local Wal-Mart is an older smaller one too. Guest guest
I think my Daddy qualifies under the " self-centered " label as well. He was waited on hand and foot by his mother and then by mine. She told us all our lives to never EVER do this. Do what I say not what I do syndrome:)) Elaine Comments on Self Centeredness, Anxiexty pills, etc. Hi, I read in 's post about a self-centered father. I think there are an equal number of self centered people in both sexes and that everyone can be self-centered at one time or another, it's part of human nature. Anxiety medicine is great (I take two kinds) but it doesn't always work. I just came from Wal Mart where I practically had to flee the crowded store with narrow aisles and no room to maneuver carts or bodies after a slight anxiety attack came on. I had taken both my medications. Anxiety, like self centeredness, is a part of life too. Even people who are undiagnosed, have bouts of anxiety and many people probably have anxiety/panic attacks of varying degrees without even knowing what they are but if you have a severe one go get it checked out. Their symptoms mimic heart attack but I've been told they have nothing to do with the heart, they all come from the mind. Anyway they can be nasty customers and come on for no reason in my case.
