Guest guest
Hi All, I have an easy way of filling lip balm tubes. I hold a number of tubes together with a rubber band. I take a tin can, like a soup or bean can and pinch a pouring sprout with a plier. I melt my mixture in the can. Just place the can in a pan of boiling water until the mixture is fully melted then pour into tubes. I usually leave a bit on the bottom of the can then remelt to top off. Guest guest
I purchased a metal turkey baster with an injection attachment and it works great! I think I paid $5.99 for it. I've also used it for filling the jello jelly bean molds! HTH Sharon --- __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Jell-O Jelly Bean Molds? I'm new and I'm so lost in this group, I barely comprehend what you all are discussing. LOL If you make your own lip balm, where do you get the tubes? I haven't checked the site out completely, but this is all so new to me. I've only made M & P soaps, bath oils, bath salts and bath bombs. Jodi

Guest guest
Hi Terri! To fill my lip balm tubes, I use a "pipette" -- at least, I think that's what they're called. They're long and plastic, and they have a bulb at the end (kind of like a turkey baster, but these are REALLY small). They came with the lip balm kit that I got for Christmas last year. They work so well. I can't imagine putting it into a Ziploc bag ... I would think that would be really messy! Wow! Anyway, just wanted to share that those work really well for me. nne
Guest guest
Large feeding syringes should work also, and give you a decent capacity to work with. They have a tapered neck instead of one designed to hold a needle, and fit nicely in the hand. I think the ones I used while doing homecare held 50mls. Easy to clean, too. Guest guest
Lucinda- UCK! You reminded me of when I used to have to spoon pureed fish into those and then feed someone. I have always hated the sight/smell/taste of fish, but the pureed really did me in! But your idea is great, thank you! Guest guest
You could also try a farm supply store. We have a couple for emergency lambing problems...they are exactly like " human " feeding tubes...but cheaper. :-) Tenille www.KindredGifts.com ---------------------- I got mine through our home health care agency, you would probably find them anywhere that handles invalid supplies.....or ask your pharmacist. HTH~ Lucinda > Large feeding syringes should work also, and give you a decent capacity to work with. Where do you get these? Best,
