Actually she is my hubbys grandmother, My MIL lives out west, thank God. LOL. She's also about a block away from the Post office downtown town. All these years we have visited there, I still would get lost. I dont know what side is what. Hubby always does the driving and I guess I just dont pay much attention. His grandmother likes to walk downtown every day to keep her joints moving. Bless her heart its getting harder for her. She is probably about 84 now.

Uhhu sure your not michevious! LOL

Yes, you DID say it was your DH's grandmother.

See, I failed the test for today. I think all

the rain we got last night fogged my head up!!!

Grandma sounds like a wonderful woman! We know a

lady like that, too. She lives in J'town, too.

Her DH passed away. She had no children, but has

always had small children come to visit, as she

loves kids. She is 85 and STILL mows her very

large yard! I look at her and cannot believe it,

as she looks the same as she did when I was a kid!

I agree. These are sick, sick people that did this and I cannot figure out

what in the world they thought they would accomplish by this. This could

very well be the start of another world war. I just hope to God that other

countries start standing behind us and helping and not be intimidated into

staying away from helping us find this sick group of people that did this.

If they are capable of carrying this off without the gov't having a inkling

of what was about to happen, then they're capable of ANYTHING. I

don't know if anybody mentioned it on TV today but do you realize what

date it is today? 911 I don't know if that's just a coincidence or if it has

any meaning.

Today's Attacks

Good Afternoon all,

I am praying for our nation and for the families touched by this

terrible tragedy. However, my mind goes back to 1996 when the

World Trade Center was bombed...I remember threats that there was

going to be "terrorism on the streets of the US cities..."

I am a Christian and I believe this issue all goes back to the days of

Abraham. In the book of Genesis, it was said that there would always

be contention between Ishmael and Israel. I believe that what we

witnessed today all boils down to this "rivalry". It is not rivalry,

actually, but a deep hatred and crazed resentment that would even

contrive such a horrible plan...let alone carry it out. Because the

US stands behind Israel, we now will deal with Ishmael's revenge.

The fact is that the perpetrators of these acts of violence and terrorism

used neither military stategies nor personnel. Rather their cowardice

approach was to kill innocent lives of OUR own people by taking hostage

hundreds and hundreds of people...civilians! This is so ridiculous,

I can scarcely believe it.

Dee said this is the worst thing that has happened to our nation

since Pearl Harbor..but even Pearl Harbor felt like it was millions

of miles away! Now, this is the first time that an attack has been

launched on American soil, other than the American Revolution.

I believe that we must all unite in prayer for our country. For those

who have lost loved ones in these terrible, deporable acts of terrorism.

And even for the families of those who did these acts of terrorism.

That they might see the truth before they follow in the footsteps of

those who went before them. And also for the leaders of our nation.

I hope I am not stepping on any toes here. I am just sitting here

thinking about all that has happened and wondering HOW it happened!

nne, I am so happy that Jeff is safe. You must have been so terrified.

, I will be praying for you and your family...especially your

hubby. Also for your friends, that they may be safe.

I believe these are some pretty perilous times we are facing as a nation...

God Bless America...may she find safety and favor as we face a very

serious and grave situation.....

What a bunch of bull....with that insurance company. Does your

husband have a lawyer? I think I'd be making a phone call. Did

he ever file for Social Security Disability? I don't know if you

ever mentioned it or not, if so I don't recall. How was he hurt?

Was it a car accident and if so, who's fault was it? There's got to

be something that can be done for him insurance wise. Don't let

him give up. Fight that insurance company. A lot of times they

hope that the people give up and don't fight them back. Don't

give up. Also, if his company says he's now laid off, I'd be contacting

Unemployment Dept. to see if he qualifies.

Hang in there!!

M

Hi All....

Good Morning, everyone!

I have fallen so far behind in reading, as my DH placed this

wonderful new cart on my site....every morining when I wake up,

I have to start running...there are orders there waiting and paid

for, so I must SCURRY!!!!

probably isn't here and reading...well, she best NOT

be, anyway...but wishing you the best this weekend!

Shaye! Good news about the spa! Wow, you are amazing. Hope your

appointment goes well for you. East Ave! Good grief, Shaye. Talk

about RITZY! I really like the soap pics you sent. Gosh, Shaye,

I think you must be so busy doing all that you do! I really like

your sea-theme soaps and that boat...cool!

nne...love your soap. Pretty with the glitter! Shoot...Everyone

is doing and making all these wonderful things. I am green with envy.

I am busy with Olive Tree Soaps doing supplies...no creativity going

on here....;O( ...Homeschooling and the business are keeping me way

too busy to even think.

Don't know if I mentioned it here or not, but last month, the disability

insurance company told my DH he is no longer disabled....HELLO? Nothing

has changed, but they told him he "needs" to go to work. (Mark had a

spinal cord injury two years ago last Memorial Day, which rendered him

as an incomplete paraplegic". "incomplete" means his spinal cord was not

severed) Anyway, Mark called his place of employment (would have been

there 12 years so far) and told them he was being forced back to work.

They told him the company has a hiring freeze on and that they have to

lay him off....Gosh, with all the nonsense we have already been through,

this is too much! Mark is allowed to appeal to the insurance company, so

he is doing that. His doctor filed a report, as requested, a few months

ago, in which she stated several times that it would be nearly impossible

for Mark to go to work, other than from home, as he has several medical

issues which are very hard to deal with in an office setting.Oh, Mark

was doing technical writing which he could do from home. His company told

him they wouldn't do it, however. He had even offered to go in to meet with the

engineers, if needed a couple of times a week, but they said, "No". He is

a mechanical engineer by degree, but has worked more with computer stuff

than anything else the last 18 years! Anyone got any leads on work-from-home

puter jobs?

So, I guess my "creative" side has been squelched a bit by all this

nonsense, too!

So glad we have this list...it sure helps to read and hear from others.

Takes some of the edges off life!

I've been off the computer for a few days so just catching up

on a lot of emails. What a crock that the dis. ins. co. is working

to get him s.s.disability. The bureacratic bull that insurance

companies put people through is just amazing. Until you've been

thru it, there's no way to truly understand how bad it is. My

problem is all mental & emotional from sexual harassment and

after I had to leave and filed a lawsuit, the co. started taking it out on my

husband which added to my stress. I was on long term disability and

was approved for workman's comp. The disability program only runs for

two years and 5 months short of the end of it, they decided because I had

taken some painting classes (which I was advised to do by my counselor and

psychiatrist as therapy) that I was no longer disabled so they cut off my

checks. It didn't matter that the State still saw me as disabled and was on

3 different medications, this little insurance company disagreed. I was only

rec'g. $105/month so I really didn't care about the money. I was so sick

of fighting insurance companies, I decided I wasn't even going to appeal it.

They just added more stress to an impossible situation. In your husband's

case he HAS to fight them. So DON'T LET HIM GIVE UP!! What pisses

me off a lot of times is when I see people that I know are on S.S. say for a

bad back and I see them climbing ladders and doing roofing or other things

like that. There's just no justice.

Re: M

Hi ....

I have intentionally stayed as far away from all the malarkey (SP?)

with this stuff with Mark, as I get so mad, I about blow a gasket!

But, Mark has a lot more going on for him in the logic department

than I do! Anyway, as he was writing the appeal letter, he had to

call the company that the disability insurance company hired to

try to get him Social Security. Do you see anything WRONG with this

picture? The insurance company says he is NOT disabled, but are hiring

a company to claim he IS? Talk about talking out of both sides of your

mouth!

Mark's back has had trouble for several years. He went to the DR when

his legs began to get numb and such...The Dr said that there were

"problems", but nothing to worry about. So, he didn't! He was having

terrible pain the day before Memorial Day two years ago. He had often

found some relief by getting into the pool. So, he climbed in that day

and when he got out, he could barely walk. He made it into the living room

and fell to the floor. The next morning, the Dr did surgery to remove a

piece of disc that blew out and lodged against his spinal cord. The Dr

doing the surgery was a Dr in Rochester that worked on the likes of Ted

and Brady. He was confident that Mark would do well, as the

surgery was well within 24 hours from when Mark suffered the injury. It

really was never expected that he would be unable to walk...The Dr also

explained that when a disc "blows", it usually migrates to the left or

right of the spinal cord. Mark's was unusual, as the piece went right

against the cord. This has been so awful. Just before everything happened,

Mark had lost about 80 pounds and was playing hockey a couple of times

a week. To go from such an active life to not being able to do a lot

of anything has been a really hard transition. As you can imagine.

As you can see, this has just been a strange thing that no one could

have ever anticipated!
