I thought of you while I was in the hospital -- I was only there for a week this time, and I just can't imagine how you've handled the many, many times you've been there! If they take your defib out for awhile, do you have to be in the hospital to be monitored while the defib isn't in there, or what? Hang in there, girl! You don't deserve to have to go thru it a 18years old. You should be having fun and enjoying life...not worrying about yourself AND dad too. To which they all looked at me with a blank stare. I am with your Dad regarding thunder storms as I relate to the flash as what I felt or saw in my brain whenever my icd fires. As for you young lady only smurfs have blue body parts now cut that out. Hope al goes well for you. I had similar problem with original icd many years ago but these new ones aren't that big. They had to remove my original one as it was shredding all my veins and cutting off my circulation. That when I hid out. It was only to be out for 1 month so that my body could heal. But then I had a bleed in my stomach pouch with left me a mess for a long time. The icd I have now is implanted on my right side as it is only side that has less scar tissue.
