Pam,

I've put on that 50# bag of dog food since my heart problems became serious in the last year. That is a visual that really scares me Then again I think of it as another child on my back.

-- Weight loss -- Sharon

Hey, Sharon, congratulations on the weight loss!! That's great!! Every little bit taken off helps. Whenever Ifeel like "awww, geez, that's no big deal, there's so much more togo", I'll try to pick up a 50# bag of dog food --that reminds me that I was once carrying itON myself all the time. Dear Pam and , After I read your posting I went out to the garage and

looked at the 40# dog food bag Don had brought home the other evening. I

can't even to begin to lift it. I started thinking mybe this is why I am so

tired on top of everything else because I am dragging this big bag with me

whereever I go.

When I got pregeant with my first child (kevin my oldest son 35) I weighted

110 lbs the day I came home from the hospital with him I weighed 128. I

stayed at 128 for years then I just kept adding a few pounds here and there.

Then all this came up and I really started getting heavy. Let me tell you

being short and fat is no picnic. Clothes from Lane are not meant for

short tiny people. I wear a size 5 shoe.

People have stared People have said oh when are you do. Are you having a late

in life child. I carry all my weight in the fron from my midriff to my

thighs.

I can't tell you how hard it is to live in a husehold with all thin peole.

My husband is 6'3 " weight 182, Michale my youngest son is 6' 4 " and 185#'s.

My DD is 5'9 " and weighs in at 132 since giving birth to Jessie and she is

having a fit because she has to waer a size 10.

I am proud of the fact that I am finally able to wear some of my smaller

clothes. I know tht I have a long way to go. I have started taking some of

the pressure off of myself. Te only person I need to please is me. Which

for me is very hard. I am a co-dependent and a fixer, and a pleaser. I come

from a very abusinve background and am still tring to undo some of the damage

and learn that I am ok just being me and that is not so bad,

Smile

Sharon,

Picture this.....I am 5' 11" and with my weight (also carry more in the same area as you but all over too) I look like the pictures of the old Amazon women. Not a pretty picture to have of yourself LOL

, Picture this (get waste can first). I was setting on the floor of my

bedroom cleaning out a drawer in the dresser. When I glanced at the closet

which has sliding glass mirrors as doors. I didn't see me I saw Jabba the

hut (I think that's what they call him from Star Wars) I saw Sharon the huge

mass of blubber kinda ruined my hole day.

Sharon,

I think we're playing can you top this

Seriously though, I'm one of those people who avoids mirrors...wonder why that is. Until I saw myself one day a few months ago I was able to keep this thinner impression of myself in my mind. I was literally shocked to see the "real" me. Of course I had put on a significant amount of weight in the last year because of all my heart troubles and being too out of breath or too exhausted from bouts with A Fib. So far since this round 6 weeks ago I have managed to lose 15lbs and keep it off.

I went to my cardio's this week and of course I got more bad news. My liver functions have gone up recently and I have to see a specialist. My blood sugar is way out of control and now it may be time for insulin.....the med adjustments they had to make recently also has wacked it out. Until they fix these I can't have the weight loss surgery.

I keep trying to keep my head up and not fall down....some days are better than others.

Join the crowd, I am 5"9 and overweight so I understand how you feel. What to do? I have lost around 2000 lbs in my life and then I remember how good food tastes and there I go right up the scale again.

One Question Ladies Please?

Does it really matter how you look? to me you are all beautiful, and I am not saying this to be a gentelman but you are all lovely, caring, sharing, wonderful people and I love you all the way you are. Isn't whats important the inner beauty? Otherwise it must be a woman thing. In that case i am sorry. Still you're all beautiful to me!...... TURK

Oh Wonderful Turk, Where have you been all my life. How nic of you tosay

such a sweet thing. I thik past of it might be a woman ting but part of it

is our society in generally. Fat people are just plain overeaters with no

self control. My husband reminds me that when he married me I wore a size 5

and now it would take 4 size 5 to cover my fat ass. For me it is a comfort

issue more than anything anymore. I don't care if I can wear a size 5 or a

14 I am short and very hard to fit and when you are short and fat you got no

where to hide.

I just want Bob and Turk to know that I love them unconditionally. I am a

good house keeper and an excellent cook and I am willing to take care of

either or both of them. Heaven I'm in heaven, these two guys must be angels.
