WOW, if I left up to his doings, he'd never get on the bus.....one of us must escort him and usually by the hand! That's great that Zeb manages on his own! Our bus driver is a young gal and very sweet, she usually doesn't say anything, it's the old monitor who must strap them in and sit with them that complains. However, the driver DID tell me that flipped her off the other day, thank God he uses his index finger and not the middle one, the little rat! hehe,

Hi , Do you think he knows what he is doing or just copying his peers? I am trying to give Zeb some sense of independence and responsibility. I hold my breath each morning. He didn't do to well when we started this in October. My neighbors on the road are great and many times he banged on their door or walked down the street to my in-laws. It took time but he can finally manage most mornings. I also insist that he goes to his classroom unassisted from the bus. He doesn't always go right to his classroom and sometimes socializes at the office etc. but for the most part does what is expected. If Zeb always has someone by his side he will never learn any independence or how to make a good choice. We are having a good year so far and I am proving my point to the school that he can do it.Zeb is also fortunate to be the principal's pet so the staff just goes with the flow. Hi Dawn, The principal loves Zeb but doesn't find me amusing in the least. The poor guy turns a strange shade of purple even when I walk by and say hi. It's kind of a joke now with the staff. I just laugh too.I have know him for 12 yrs.he was at the high school when my older son was there. was the high honors no problem kid. Zeb would probably have a great time with but they may teach each other a few new tricks.I was supposed to be working on my quicken program for my year end. You can tell what I did today group, played. Charlyne Mom to Zeb 9 DS/OCD ?

Apparently the after school daycare was a problem for some of them. They had to tweak somethings. I think they got mad at the wrong person. My Rochelle gets out 15 min early every Monday for the buses even though she does n't take one. But, since we make our own schedule it doesn't bother me. But I totally agree with you that it is illegal. Diane

Guest guest
the special ed class nathan is in, every friday the last 20-30minutes the kids get a snack and watch a video, ok'd by parents, and the special ed teacher and aids are there at the table discussing any issues for the week, or brainstorm ideas etc, soemtimes train sort of over issues too, work on stuff for the next week--manipulatives, etc. but it doesnt really bother me, there is about 4 boys in this class, and they all seem to enjoy it, often the boys themsleves pick out a video from home and bring it in. And i forgot to mention they dont have to watch the video ifthey dont want to. Sometimes one maybe reading a book, or playing on the computer too, i think the boys lok forward to it, kinda like chocolate milk on fridays for lunch, lol. shawna ===== shawna __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I'm not sure about the time limit, but I think it may fall under your daughter's LRE (Least Restrictive Environment). check with some more knowledgeable parents on this list. I'm not much help because if that happened to Jordan, I would be asking too. Sorry I can't be of any help here. But I send hugs out for you and your daughter. Guest guest
I'm replying late, have not checked mail in a few days. If it happens again take a picture of your daughter. keep a record of what is happening and when, who you have spoken to and when you spoke to them. Start making phone calls at school and spec. ed dept. Go up the ladder. If you have to call the chancellors office. Call the dept of transportation. Is there a matron on the bus. Tell them your child is not to sit in arms reach of this girl and for the matron to watch her more closely. Maureen ..
