The chest x-rays are neat to see..... I doubt that the Doctors will let you keep the unit because of the health risk factors. But you might call your manufacturer and ask to for a mock copy of yours..... Shortly after mine was replaced, Medtronic sent me a non functional copy. It weighs 2.8 ounces but feels much heavier. They are quite a conversational piece! I too am disappointed about there not being a recycle program for these units. I am also confused, because here in the state of California, on your DMV Donor cards, there is a space to check if you want your "pacemaker" donated, and a space for the date it was implanted. I have that all checked off for my ICD. Unfortunately there is not a space on the Organ Donor care for me to write: " Forget the heart"!!!! :-), but maybe they will figure that out with the ICD info there! ~guin Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
