Often we would meet them there but there were times. One time we went to a show and rode their special bus. We were gone from home 6 hours to see a 2 hour show. We went all over the city. Don't know how they figured out the route. That was the last time we did that. doesn't have the patience to wait that many do, in fact he has a very short fuse. Esp. those with wheelchairs that get hauled around on buses, It takes forever to load one of those buses and they all wait patiently. It's a good thing, but it's kind of pathetic. Guest guest
I've gotta say, I love Austin riding the same bus as his brother. I know he gets where he's going on time, and safely. Gotta say, it's another benefit of living in a small town, LOL. Beth, Mom to Austin, 5ds, and Dakota d

Guest guest
sons aren't as helpful as daughters lol and if I heard one more time " Mommmmmmmmmmmm why didn't you buy any chips this week " I was going to scream Oh Kathy...this is too funny. I recently found out that TJ and his friends rate their mother's kitchens. He said I got an F, but his friend JW's mom got an A+. I asked how she rated so high and he said she had 20 bags of chips. The last time a few of his friends came over, I ordered pizza. He tells me I got an A for effort, but I am still failing...lol! I could not get him to do his own laundry, even after it would pile up for a few weeks. He told me the other night that he spent $15 on laundry..I'm betting he quits wearing 3 outfits a day. His laundry excuse before he left was that he'd find a girl to do it for him at WVU...guess he hasn't found one yet. I love having around, too....but I got so tired of watching those reality shows that she enjoys. I have my TV, cell phone and car back and she has settled in her new apartment. OH yea, TJ wants to come home for the weekend...........they don't stay gone that long, huh?

I drove Stefanie to preschool ... if she rode the bus, the ten minute trip would take 1 1/2 hours. After that, she rode the same bus as the neighborhood kids,so her bus ride was the same as theirs. Sometimes special ed kids are routed in pretty irrational ways, the amount of time they spend on the bus is unimportant if the school can save money by using one bus to go all over creation! So, they are subjected to long bus rides that regular ed kids would never be asked to take..... and their parents would not tolerate. Here we had special ed kids leaving schools early and arriving late. It was a matter of convienience for the transportation routing. Who cares if those kids lose an hour of academics during the day, we gotta get two runs out of those buses! When the school system refused to change what was going on, a local parent advocate group filed a complaint with the Office of Civil Rights ... and guess what ... they agreed it was discrimination, those students were deprived of school instruction time that the law said they were to have. Now, they arrive at the same time as the other students and leave at the same time. ;-) Cheryl in VA

LOL always road the same bus as her sisters. road the same big bus as all his neighbors to. Now thats not to say they never had a lttle yellow bus, they did, but it was purchased to get kristi to school (a whole block, hehe) during the year or so after her spinal surgery. that was before and , she's been out of school for like 3 yrs now. They recently got rid of the little yellow bus and got a diesel Chevy suburban to haul to school and back every day. :-) and 's grandma is the driver. I love small towns. heehe Joy (who means populations under 1000 for small towns, but you could go as high as 2000, lol)
